Here's a crazy thought: I'm starting to like the gun we have. I enjoy taking it to the range to shoot it. I think people with proper licenses (and thus training) should be allowed to carry their guns on their person. I do not think everyone and their mother should have access to guns though.

I don't remember exactly, but I think it might be cooperative multitasking. Like, you decide when one Goroutine yields to another

@StrixVaria Technically, there's always some piece of software choosing what thread gets cycles. In this case, it's just in the Go runtime instead of the kernel

Some people would argue that Go is also better at synchronization with its channels (gobyexample.com/channels)

Personally, I always found them kind of a pain, though

@murgatroid99 I vaguely remember from the class with the most boring Computer Engineering professor imaginable in college that there are times where the hardware optimizes multithreaded things itself, although I could see that being for some kind of specialized application and nothing as generic as a "computer".

@StrixVaria Admittedly, my experience with kernels is primarily the kind that run on a single processor. Multi-processor machines definitely have hardware-level threading support
