Hey all the people that played Dragon Age: Inquisition - does the game crash often for you?

@Chippies No, not really.

@spugsley had some problems though.

@Chippies I have encountered perhaps one crash in ~100 hours. If even.

what gpu's do you have? nvidia or amd?

@Chippies Nvidia (gtx 750). Also used to run fine on my gtx 285 (if at lower settings) before I upgraded.

I have a friend who says it crashes every 10 minutes and he's on an amd hd5850

trying to figure out if it's an amd issue or a more general issue

@Chippies Hard to say, based on the specs that's more powerful than my old 285...

@TrentHawkins yeah, but performance is not the issue, it's the crashing that's a problem

he did find some threads about other people having that issue, so Idk what's the problem

I haven't had any since the times of XP

I mean, besides a random BSOD here and there

but that's not what I consider a system lock

I just got a message from a player who invaded me in Dark Souls 2 calling me "the worst player he has ever found"... right after I killed him

@Chippies I'm bundling lock with anything that would cause the system to seemingly spontaneously restart.... my old card had some overheating issues, and the system would auto-restart after a certain heat threshold.

@Chippies More general issue from what I've heard. Lots of lingering graphical issues on PC, including crashes.

@murgatroid99 People tend to get whatever-the-word-is when it comes to Dark Souls.

Happens a lot.

I think the whole concept of invading someone, dying to this person and then talking shit to the person is just mind baffling to me

But I could't help but think "If I was really so bad, why did he lose?"

if you didn't want to die, don't invade; if you want to call the other guy a bad player, don't lose to him/her

but people are stupid

Earlier today, when I was going to kill the Lost Sinner, I had a guy invade, kill Lucatiel, and then die. The main point of this run is the Lucatiel achievement, so it was just really annoying

calling somebody you just killed a noob doesn't really say much about your own skill

It took forever, too, because he kept retreating behind enemies and healing up

so, does dark souls 2 still penalize death by reducing your hp?

@Chippies I think so, but it's hard to remember. I've been wearing a soul protection ring since I started my previous run

I think that's the dumbest mechanic in a game like Dark Souls

it's like, you die a lot, so the game must be too hard for you? Here, we'll make it harder

@Chippies It's not actually that hard to restore it to maximum, though

The point is just that you have to learn to be really careful

dying is a part of the game, it's usually the only way to learn game mechanics

and being penalized beyond losing souls is just lame, imho

That's why I wear a soul protection ring

it stops the soul loss and the health loss

I will eventually beat Dark Souls 1

I usually play it up to some point and then quit for a while and then I return and I don't know anything anymore and have to start over

it doesn't use gfwl anymore though, so that's a huge bonus

I can run it at constant 60 fps with everything maxed out in dsfix without gfwl

I could hardly run it at 45 fps with only some stuff maxed with gfwl

I am not good at DS1. So my current goal is to get all achievements in DS2

from the very few things I've heard about DS2, I think I prefer DS1

and it has steam achievements now too

for some reason the steamworks version is still in beta branch though

I just got the final eve run done, completed blue baby's posternote too today.

You need to find these items though.

Fanny pack is in the shop

Swallowed coin is in pots in basement 1-2

if you go for tinted rocks you'll probably find it

(although you don't have the starting bomb)

@badp I am always hungry for more damage, so I blow all tinted ocks I can open for the small rock/golden chests with damage up items. Blue hearts are also always convenient.

Q: i got a barrel stuck on a cliff in borderlands 2

Im playing the mission rakkaholics anonymous where yoh have to chase a truck around n make it drop barrels. Well one of the barrels it dropped got stuck on a cliff and i cant reach it or figure out what to do. I tried to ignore it and keep chasing the truck but the truck wont drop any more barrel...

Q: Place block in Minecraft with redstone?

I'd like to get a block out of a chest, and place it (without command blocks) anywhere near the contraption. My question is could it be possible to do this, and if so how? Note: it does not matter on the timing the block comes out, as long as I don't have to wait 15 minutes or so.
