its not the worst plan ever.

Skullgirls has "magic combos" so low, mid then high is always a combo for all characters, so it's easy to pick up

@AshleyNunn Yeah, I've played SCII, II, and IV, and every SSB game released. I did enjoy the new Mortal Kombat as well, even got the season pass DLC, haha, even though I suck at this genre.

You'll mostly always be able to depend on that working in some situations, even if you can't pull off longer ad hoc combos

@FAE It makes me very frustrated, because I know I struggle at a lot of gaming, so winning gives me a really nice confidence boost of yay, I did a thing! and when I find out it wasn't on my own merit, I get testy.

@badp Yeah, it depends on how big the skill disparity is. If someone's wiping the floor with me constantly, I likely will feel a bit demoralized, but I try not to take that out on the person who is beating me.

@AshleyNunn Exactly. False victories feel just that to me... false. I don't like things being handed to me on a silver platter like that. If I do lose, okay, but if I win, I'd at least like to be able to feel like I earned it.

@FAE Precisely. I struggle for a lot of stuff, so I like to know when I did it on my own that it is my own victory. It's like anything, I want to feel like I worked for it and got it, video game or otherwise.

@badp It also depends on whose "fault" it is. If it's purely the opponent outclassing me, then I lose more gracefully, but if I'm making stupid mistakes or something or messing up, then I will get pissed off, but moreso at myself.

@AshleyNunn Yeah, and having someone just "throw me a bone" or something to ease my ego just ends up doing the exact opposite.
