I'll offer this answer as an example of what could be done. This very specific example should also highlight why attempting to create a generic problem-detection tool is next to impossible. A CNN or FFT-analysis might work for a given car under extremely-specific circumstances, but that severely limits its usefulness. — Zaid 29 secs ago

Hi @RoryAlsop

@Zaid good afternoon

How are things? I had a question for you

@Zaid busy, but I have the rest of the week off, so feeling relaxed

What are canonical answers (or Q&A's)?

@Zaid ones that are "the truth"

1:47 PM
hmm
OK, in that case I'll have to ask a question on meta.mechanics.SE

so for example if we had a whole host of posts about alternators in Fords, alternators in Hondas etc. We should be able to have one that is about alternators, with sufficient info in it to include the various types

See, that's the thing
For hot-start problems, I've provided essentially the same answer to 5 different questions: mechanics.stackexchange.com/…
I'm not saying my answer is "the truth"
So I'm not sure a canonical answer is the way to streamline operations
And each vehicle could have a different fuel system
But physics is physics at the end of the day
Lack of fuel pressure is a prime suspect in hot-start issues

@Zaid Hello :-)

I don't know if I made my concern clear. Basically, is it right for me to be recycling the same answer again and again for different questions?

how are you
@RoryAlsop Doktor Doom :-p

1:54 PM
Hey @ShobinP how are you?
I'm good

I am good too.. :-)
Still the old design eh
When are we getting our overdue Design.. argg
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Paullllllll...

@Zaid true - this will only be possible for certain cases, such as eg diagnosing hot start problems
@ShobinP afternoon
@ShobinP haven't seen an updated timeline for a whil, actually

@RoryAlsop Meanwhile, Stack Overflow is getting a total site overhaul
I was like woahhhh

@ShobinP well - they have a few million more folks than we do :-)

@RoryAlsop Hmmm sort of lol
Has anyone seen youtube videos of a dude named Parker from Vehicle Virgins?
Lol my latest passtime, watching him rant about others lol especially the 4Rotor guy

Q: I keep on repeating the same answer for different questions

ZaidLack of fuel pressure is a prime cause for hot-start problems. To date, I've repeated this message in 5 different answers. I'm not sure a canonical answer would work here since every vehicle will have its own unique circumstances. But at the same time I find this recycling of the same informati...

@ShobinP no

check him out, he has some good videos but often clashes with the 4Rotor guy

I tried, but can't watch that type of youtube channel
(to be fair, it may be my age, but I can't abide that style of presentation)

2:18 PM
@RoryAlsop Ha ha right..

3 hours later…

4 hours later…
10:06 PM
Here's a line I'm hearing more and more: "I only bought it because Subaru stopped making a WRX wagon..."

10:40 PM
@BobCross when did they stop? My most recent Subaru is a WRX wagon
