@BobCross - Just so you know, someone doesn't like me. I've received more downvotes in the past three days than I've received in the past nearly three years I've been on here. Not serial downvoting, but too obvious not to be recognized. Doesn't really hurt my points in the least ... just ... well ... odd. I have an idea, but it's just my idea.

@JasonC it seems that way. Still getting hits.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 huh. Well, someone is using the site. Eventually they'll get tired of the game. It'll take a while for @DucatiKiller to reduce your rep down to the levels that he wants it to be. Not that I'm saying it's him ... (it's him). ;-)
I know there are people here who dislike me. They're not good at hiding the rage voting. I remind myself that some people have real problems in their lives and this is one way of coping. Which is sad but there you go.

Q: Diaper rash cream on paint

mrlayanceCan't seem to find the answer anywhere... My kid somehow smeared diaper rash cream on the rear quarter panel on our car. The car is grey and you can see a white film. I tried a few products with not luck. Maybe a buffer might help?

"Can't seem to find the answer anywhere" ... Except here! That should be worked into our eventual site motto.
"You'll never find a more useful conglomeration of stupid eclectic and overly-specific nerd knowledge on the Internet!"

12:48 PM
@BobCross - Kind of my thinking as well. Like I said, not really hurting my rep any ... and @DucatiKiller will have to use a lot of downvoting for me to catch down to him. I may just throw out my counter strike on him and see if I can beat him to the punch ...
It's just funny people will be downvoting answers which have been out there for a while, which truly answer the question at hand and have been accepted as the answer by the OP. I just shake my head and laugh a little. It takes all types to maintain an interwebz.

Good day to you @Zaid ... how are things?

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Hello

How is work today?

I'm in a meeting

Nice ... no better way to spend your time in a meeting than by conversing with me at The Pitstop :o)

Did you bring your gavel to the meeting? 🔨🔨🔨 Point of order! Bang bang!

1:23 PM
:)

Mister chairman! There are insufficient donuts at this meeting! Move to adjourn!

Point of order! You ate them all!

🔨🔨🔨 The gentleman from Nowheresville is out of order!

Done with the meeting

On to the donuts! The parliamentary procedure wins again!

1:59 PM
@BobCross - Will the gentleman with the overly large gavel and inflated ego please be seated and eat his donuts!

Ad hominem! I move that the gentleman's remarks be stricken from the record!
Man. Always something. On the week of the big test, of course the security software will be misconfigured and you won't be able to burn an optical disk. Why are you surprised?

2:17 PM
@BobCross - Never surprised. It always happens. No matter how well you plan, something always rears its ugly head. Even for things which you have planned for! Argh.

It makes me legit angry. I'm usually the sole guy working this project (because I'm awesome ;-) and I plan out all the nonsense, testing constantly. What I can't prevent is enemy action breaking the simple mechanics of "okay, install this version and retest."
Screwing up my day through laziness and sloppy work gets you the angry face. 👿

@BobCross - Instead of "sad panda" they get "mad panda" ... I can see it ...

Q: sort uniq(@stuff) doesn't sort, doesn't de-dupe

Zaid Some code has me waxing lyrical, The outcome is slightly hysterical. sorted output I seek, All elements unique, But the results? Far from clinical. Code in question use strict; use warnings; sub uniq { my %seen; grep ! $seen{$_}++, @_ } my @test = (); for ( 1 .. 3 ) { ...

Who's in the mood for a limerick?

5:05 PM
Aaaand it's closed as a dupe

5:24 PM
@JonEricson eager to hear what your team has to say regarding graduation

@Zaid I'm ditto on that one ... :o)
@Zaid - I'm thinking it will be "sometime this week" though.

Q: How to make a Spherical Cow?

SumitBeing a theoretical physicist, I always have a great respect for Spherical Cow. So I thought about making one myself. I am not sure how can I create (something considered to be the simplest!) this marvel. One possible way could be using the ExampleData for Cow and map it on a sphere - something ...

And I thought *I* had way too much time on my hands....

All of the sudden I got a headache

Q: Why is a 5-60 mph time slower than a 0-60 mph time for some automobiles?

marathonThis doesn't make a lot of sense to me, from a physics 101 point of view. I've read a few blog entries on why this is, but none of them explain it well or are convincing. "something-something launch control. something-something computers." Nothing in physics terms or equations. For instanc...

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 how are things?

Well. Came back from the Doc. He said everything looks good. Colonoscopy ... all was good. Surgery ... healing normally (too slow for me, though, lol). Said I'd be healing for another month at least so take it easy.

Fine, good to hear
Your weekend project?

Still projecting, lol.
We got the engine out, but still need to pull the wiring harness and computer.
Had to take more apart then we wanted to, but it's all good.
Sucks with me, because I keep holding things up.

I am sure you guys will finish it

10:18 PM
Oh, we will ... or the wife will shoot us, lol!
This is the easy part, actually. Putting it into the Impreza will be the impressive part ... haha

:)
My wife is always a bit skeptical when I do some work on the cars :)

Oh, don't think your wife is the only one which doesn't have faith in that department!
I tell my wife, "This should take me 2 hours." She automagically triples that number and she's usually right :o)
I'm starting to think "skeptical" is her middle name.

I am sure your wife has other plans for your leisure time
As mine :)

Yah, not sure about that ... she just doesn't like me working on cars all that much. The thing is, where her son is concerned, it's all golden. She won't come out and say it, but he's her "baby" and will always allow things to slide in that direction ... if you get my drift.

Ok, got it

10:28 PM
Don't get me wrong ... I don't think he'd get away with murder ... but ...
It just so happens to be okay with me in this case, though. It means I can use the garage to work on his car and she's fine with it. Usually, if it's anything over two days in duration she starts getting fussy.

Could also be just some satisfaction over this "father and son family thing"?

That is a factor as well ... good call.

At least that's what I am shooting into the blue, over two lines of diagnostics :) And over half the earth :)

lol, nice

I just don't know if the last sentence are understandable in english

10:33 PM
Translated just fine here :o)

Sorry, need some sleep
See you
