Ha, that's great. You did pick a perfect crossover.
@ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2, I was on Electronics.SE this morning and it showed me a pop-up that says "Welcome back! If you found this question useful, don't forget to vote both the question and the answers up."
I signed up a while back to post an answer or comment or something and haven't been there in a while.
Anyway, I think that's a good way to educate about voting.
@ᴘᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2, Well, I was hoping you would know! It must be baked into the SE code somewhere, but no idea if it has settings or is different on a Beta site, etc.
I have seen it before on another site, but just really noticed because of our talk on voting.
It was good. Unfortunately, I cannot stick around. I've got a boatload of work to get done ... you know how Mondays are, I'm sure! I will probably be on later ... maybe we can catch up then.
@JPhi1618 It should be enabled everywhere. I think it works when you find a question via Google or some other search engine. It doesn't pop up if you find the question on the site organically.
@JPhi1618 - I think in the search here, having less is better. The more you put into the search criteria, the more returns you get. If you can boil down what you are looking for to a very small cross section of what you're looking for (beyond the tags), I think you are more likely to find what you are looking for more easily. May take a couple of tries, but it seems to have worked okay for me. Search engines (as you probably know) are very tricky and Google has it down pat.
Of course to test the mirror from the switch you'd need to find a pinout of the switch connector.
@MaxGoodridge, Man at these prices, just replace the switch and hope for the best! http://www.amazon.com/Mirror-Switch-Control-Volkswagen-Passat/dp/B006KZAJ8C
Not as far as I can tell - personally I don't have a problem with the cheap chinese parts (which are dead cheap) for most non-critical repairs like switches, door locks and a like
Okay, here goes then ... please post your hate comments after :D (PS: I did delete the sentence which said: "No, you are wrong." ... I figured it would be nicer to let you figure that out. ;-)
There are two basic usages for the term "crank throw". Both have to do with the crankshaft:
The crank throw is a measure of the distance from the center-line of the main journal to the center-line of the rod journal. This distance could be considered the radius of the crank arm. Twice this mea...
@Zaid And it all depends on how you look at the term. If you are considering the first bullet point in my answer, there is technically only a single throw.
@Zaid If considering the second bullet point, there are as many throws as there are crank arms. In a flat plane crank V8, if there are two con-rods per journal, then there are four throws.
I have an '05 Sienna. At 7 this morning, it was making a knocking noise when I went to leave for work. It had been off since about 9:30 last night. Clicked unlock on the remote and nothing happened. Had to unlock it with the key. Internal unlock button does nothing as well. Turning the key, ...
