I just looked at that title and went "Nah, not today."

@RichardU I always knew I was more intelligent than (nearly) everyone else. That opinion hasn't changed. What has changed, so far, is my realization that "inteligence" is an incredibly narrow measurement that matters an awful lot less than a lot of other things.

I think the single piece of evidence that put a fatal crack in that worldview was one of those huge longitudinal studies on life outcomes, which showed that once you got to an IQ of about 110/120 (so, a bit above average, but not by some huge margin), further increases in IQ had absolutely zero correlation with life outcomes.

@RichardU Of course, and I still do. But I'm smart enough to know that all these inferior beings would take offence to my brilliance!!

@Kaz I love what someone once told me on the difference between intelligence vs Wisdom. "Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not using it in a fruit salad"

@Kaz I've also read that the rate of mental illness goes up after an IQ of 120 as well. My own observations have shown me that drive has far more to due with success than anything else.
