Q: Is there a place for "unethical" yet correct questions on The Workplace?

SheldonatorAh, dammit, it feels bad to ask such a "similar" question, but while I got some interesting answers, I feel like we could take this to a higher scale, the example I used was most likely flawed as people found excuses in the OP's behavior to file his question as "not OK". I'm really interested in ...

Q: I don't understand this reject reason - could someone help?

cst1992http://workplace.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/42296 This edit just got rejected. The 'Community' user cited a strange reason, which I think doesn't apply: This edit did not correct critical issues with the post - view the revision history to see what should have been changed Th...

@JoeStrazzere you should be able to cast a delete vote too FYI :) it's always easier for us moderators to do things if there is more clear community support, such as existing delete votes, close votes, flags, etc
We're getting a lot of folks with the 20,000 reputation to do that quickly and you only need 10,000 to cast those votes after a time period

2:58 PM
you only need 10k, sure, quick thing to do ^^

@PlasmaHH once you get 20k though you can do a fast delete on -3 or worse closed questions

@enderland that second one should be even quicker, just hold your breath

3:16 PM
Yes, users with 20k can vote to delete that question right now, and users with 10k can do so tomorrow. It takes three votes to delete.

What shall I do next week with 200k then? ^^

3:36 PM
@MonicaCellio it might be more than 3, I think that you need an extra delete vote for every combined 10 score on the question and top voted answer (citation needed :D)

I would still just say screw it and have a mod delete it
Thats what we have mods for partially
Nobody has made a compelling argument for why it should be kept yet and many people have made one against that notion

well keep in mind moderators are supposed to be more exception handlers than "enforcers" - there are a lot of folks who even frequent chat here who could cast a delete vote there ;-)

This question is somewhat of an exception

3:52 PM
@enderland oh, I thought it was net score on the question (not upvotes), but I forgot about the answers. Ok, it might take more than three people, then.

4:26 PM
I'm not sure how it works. I think that it requires more DVs though. maybe we will find out on this question? :)

A: Should delete votes be limited like close votes?

Jarrod DixonWe had discussed this before, but deferred until there was a problem - it seems we now have a problem :) The new rules (also apply to undelete votes): 10k rep users get 5 deletion votes per day on questions they don't own - deletion rules on questions one does own are still in effect. Popular ...

Currently the question is -4 and the top answer is 21, so three delete votes are enough, but if the answer gets a few more votes that could rise to four.

Just cast the final delete vote. Glad to see this off the site really.

@Lilienthal that's what those votes are for ;)
