Hi all
Has anyone had experience asking a current boss for recommendation for grad school ?
How should I approach my boss about this?

@OneTwoThree You should just ask him, "Would you be willing to write me a recommendation for grad school?" He'll probably say yes. Just make sure he knows that you're going to grad school and that you will be leaving, as if he finds that out because you want a recommendation letter, he's more likely to say no.

Q: Can I be forced to do off-site work during my notice period?

CnutIf I choose to resign from my current position and I need to give a month notice, can they force me to work anywhere other than my designated location of work in the contract? I am concerned that this may be used in a malicious way to hit me for expenses that I do not know if they would reimburse...

I don't see this as on-topic, but I'm posting it here for review.

Hi Spiral, welcome to The Workplace. I put this on hold to give you time to edit the post; we're not a forum for advice. As a Q&A site, your post should have a clear question about what type of resolution you're looking for. This ensures answers can be properly evaluated and voted on. @jmac I'm not just worried about him saying "no", but also about creating any weirdness. you know, it'd feel like giving a 12-month notice. Not to mention, IF (just if), my application got denied, I'd obviously like to continue working ... what if they'd already find a replacement by then?
