The dimension won't unload for a while after the last player leaves it, so pretty sure whatever it was is history

The rules that the wiki have say that mobs will immediately despawn if outside 128 blocks of any player and players are online (things won't magically despawn if you log out)

@TimPost I was thinking it was the Concussion charge or whatever from the same mob, but close enough. Also the workshop needs an automatic crafting table crafting the ender shards into enderpearls.
