Two of the ultimate hybrids made last night hooked up to two MFSUs - that's all I need to handle the load of a very upgraded and overclocked thermal centrifuge. So, 12 more of the radioisotopes to fuel, and my power system is done :)
There's the solar plant. Two of those ultimate hybrids (512 EU/t / 64 EU/t night or rainy) feeding into 3 MFSUs, and then stepped down from HV, MV to LV for distribution.
@TimPost do you transport LV over long distances? I know they changed a lot, but it used to be a lot more efficient to transport EV/HV over long distances and then step down locally
If you carefully place some MFSUs along the long distance distribution paths, you have the makings of a good 'sub station' layout. The storage and retransmitting of the power alleviates the loss, and easy to use with just a couple of transformers placed down.
I hope they get the analyzer working (finally) in IC2 experimental, because you really need that to be able to figure out at what point to place more energy storage to eliminate the loss.
Not yet, but only because I haven't needed to. I think I will just so I can know how it works, but more practical means exist for satellite locations (especially with ender tanks and the cheap cost of geothermal generators)
Also, quantum bridges are not cheap unless you sort of cheat with cobble generators.
I did something incredibly dumb. Those transformers? Yeah, that line out leads straight down to the basement to the high side of my other bank of MFSUs. Why I made them and placed them completely escapes me.
The green side is the out on these, right? (sphax changes it)
Hmm. I've got about 35 machines at power tier 1, to pipe through 512 EU/t to everything, I'd need three transformer upgrades per machine. Just over 100 upgrades. Let me see how expensive these things are.
Kind of. Each needs two gold insulated cables, an electronic circuit (which is 6 copper insulated cables), an EV transformer which is a machine casing and two more insulated copper cables, then a bunch of glass. I've got thousands of copper ingots, close to a thousand gold, and one harvest of my rubber tree farm should be enough rubber.
I'll need to mine about 600 more iron ingots and that can be my weekend project.
Though it's sort of a waste, as over half my power comes from LV sources.
What can one do with 700 blocks of u-238?
Other than build a giant radioactive barn or something
