@Jochem What? You can do that in vanilla Minecraft (pistons, cobble or stone generator, redstone pulse generator, done).

@MartinSojka that gives you a 1x16 row of cobble and then you have to move your machine one over though...

I have no idea how big of a platform you need, but self-healing stone/cobblestone walls and platforms are a thing in vanilla since a long time.

That reminds me of a server I was on some time ago where the admins tried to fight xray mods by having resources be random drops from regular stone, while ores would just turn to stone first when mined. I went down, grabbed some redstone on the way, and made a stone generator. Diamonds from simply standing in a spot holding the mouse button down until the pick breaks. ;)

People really forget how much freedom vanilla already gives you.

it's surprising how many recipes have changed a bit though. yesterday, I found out you can double your fluix dust production if you add plastic from MFR (so certus dust, redstone dust, quartz dust, and MFR plastic => 4 fluix)

I found out this weekend ytou can make books without leather...

all you need is paper, sticks and wool.

with four sticks you can make one of the tinkers construct templates, two of these, a piece of wool and three paper is a book.

That resulted in a thaumonomicon seconds later...

I wish mDiyo wouldn't add that recipe though. It's not like TiC needs books for anything really.

@MartinSojka not really, but it was convenient in skyblock. We just had cows though, so it was only a matter of time until we had enough leather anyway.

I think it's one of those cases where a mod author decides that the vanilla recipe is stupid, and replaces it with something that makes more sense to them...

which is kinda ironic, considering mdiyo hates it when greg does that <_<

Well, it's not technically replacing a recipe as much as adding a new one

It's another case of a mod author having some bright idea and just stuffing it into their existing mod even if it's not fitting the scope of the mod. :)

I wouldn't mind much if it was in OpenBlocks or ExtraUtilities, since both are "kitchensink" type of mods.

omg, best 8 diamonds ever spent... Builder's wand is craftable by surrounding a stick with 8 diamonds in this pack, apparently... Built more platform area in 5 minutes than I had after all my playtime so far :D
