12:01 AM
@JeffreyLin how much energy do we want to store?
@JeffreyLin we have 7 max-sized spheres now (3 upstairs and 4 in basement) for a total of 14,98 trillion RF

12:40 AM
I think 15 trillion is probably sufficient
If you need that much capacitance your energy system isn't properly sustainable.

2:21 AM
@Ieuan wat

user43095
Let's face it, we are generating more than we use.

user43095
We really don't need more than one sphere, considering that they have an I/O of 1B RF/t

user43095
To-do for tomorrow: Update Botania. If pack already upgraded, screw it.

7:07 AM
@Ieuan Spheres? In Minecraft? What is this vile witchery?!?

4 hours later…
10:41 AM
@Unionhawk we're generating more than 9 million RF/t from just solars
@JeffreyLin if you get me a 100% working build tonight my time I'll update server

1 hour later…
11:56 AM
@Ieuan Then you probably don't need that much capacitance, so adding more would be dumb.

12:29 PM
@Unionhawk so you're saying we need more?
I can do that

No, I was actually saying you're a goddamn idiot
You don't need more, I am cutting you off
Because if I don't then you'll start using these things as cables.

12:50 PM
@Unionhawk You can't cut me off now, I need more
@Unionhawk Hmm.. would that be possible?
I mean, I'd have to hook them up using those energy pylon things

No.
It wouldn't be possible because if you did it @Jochem would hunt you down

1:17 PM
@Unionhawk Worth it

1 hour later…
user43095
2:37 PM
Motion to ban Ieuan for being a madman

2:55 PM
@JeffreyLin you don't want more power storage?

@Ieuan you were considering setting up a system that would just VOID POWER
why are you making more storage? did you learn nothing from your earlier folly?

@Jochem what earlier folly?
We had almost enough storage but it kept getting filled up
These things have more :D
And yeah, voiding power would still be cool but apparently that's not a thing
Damn lossless power transfer

the chunk full of capacitors?
also, there is a way of voiding power
just quit making more storage

3:27 PM
I vote a limit on energy density: If you store energy equivalent to the mass of a small black hole you get a black hole in your base

user43095
4:05 PM
> The Endoflame now caps how much each fuel is worth to the value of a Coal Block. It can still accept larger fuels, but they are capped to a Coal Block. Now, before you start raging and raising your pitchforks around at this, please think about what botania tries to do, and how much super condensed fuels like Aeternalis Fuel Blocks negate that. Ok, you chill now?

user43095
Updated Botania to build 207.

4:30 PM
@KevinvanderVelden what is the mass of a small black hole?

Depends on how you define black hole

user43095
@Ieuan Why are slug names case sensitive T_T

@JeffreyLin nerbs
@KevinvanderVelden well I mean, a black hole is something that sucks up all matter around it increasing it's mass right?
Because then it's kinda hard to go around counting the mass
because it'd suck you in
@JeffreyLin because they should be

user43095
@KevinvanderVelden Hungry node.

Everything should be case sensitive except language

user43095
4:33 PM
Bibliocraft has been updated, which patches exploits

Oooh what are the exploits?

user43095
Dupe bugs

user43095
Do we have FastCraft?

user43095
Wat

user43095
Forge Mod Loader has found a problem with your Minecraft installation The mods and versions listed below could not be found: Baubles

6:01 PM
@JeffreyLin 'bugs'
@JeffreyLin Any config changes in those mods?

user43095
6:15 PM
@Ieuan Probably, but configs are only updated when you delete the old one and it's regenerated.

user43095
AFAIK

@Ieuan just because something changes, doesn't mean you can't measure a point in time :p And just because it has strong gravity, doesn't mean you can't find out what something's mass is from far away
that's like saying "you can't know how heavy the sun is because if you get close it burns you"

6:37 PM
@Jochem Shhh

7:27 PM
Depending on the definition of black hole every particle that has mass is a black hole =p
It's just that it can't suck anything up because of the exclusion principle

also, there's no weight or size limit on actual black holes either... And they're bad news regardless of their size

7:43 PM
"Earth-moon-black hole of death system"

the little texts in some of the slides are pretty good too "Don't try to stand on a black hole"

Yeah, and flying tardis

8:48 PM
ugh, item valves aren't doing what I want them to do

user43095
@Jochem Valves? What mod is that?

@JeffreyLin SFM

user43095
Ooh, like one the the three mods I've never used

SFM is really cool, it lets you do some stuff that is otherwise impossible

user43095
Ooh, like one the the three mods I've never used

8:51 PM
@Jochem is the new programming system public yet?

@Ieuan new programming system? in SFM?

@Jochem Yeah they were gonna renew the programming stuff for the controllers
make it work on larger monitors too and stuff
Like pneumaticcraft did

huh, dunno honestly
I can't zoom in or out at least
the stupid item valves are pooping out two tablets when I specifically say it should only do one tablet at a time, and not do anything if there's anything in front of it :/

user43095
@Jochem Automating Botania?

oh son of a... the item valve shoots items out fast enough to get them on the far side of the block, which makes it not detect it properly
@JeffreyLin yeah, I'm trying to store insane amounts of Mana
not because I need to, but because LOLOLOL

user43095
8:54 PM
@Jochem Sparks!

@JeffreyLin a) Sparks don't store mana, b) I can't infinitely grow a system with sparks automatically, c) I like to play at >10 FPS
I want to store it in mana tablets, with my AE system automagically creating more mana tablets as needed

user43095
@Jochem You could have a turtle place sparks and pools.

@JeffreyLin yes, maybe... but I want to contain my base inside of the sphere I built
and that sounds like a terribly laggy system
both in FPS and eventually also in TPS

@Jochem meh TPS shouldn't be too bad

@Ieuan that's what you say about everything

8:57 PM
Botania is mostly alright apart from the flowers that eat items

Botania mana bursts cause(d) terrible and debilitating lag if they ended up in unloaded chunks
also, the recessive sparks have limited range, I'd have to set up relays, which would be harder to do automatically too

user43095
Then use dominant instead of recessive?

this way, I can store infinite mana in a 2x3x1 block system, which isn't ever going to get bigger, and shouldn't ever cause lag
tons of mana pools is the worst way to store mana...
it's not that there's some unsolvable issue that's keeping me from doing that, it's just that it's a Bad Idea

user43095
Honestly, I'd say that with my generation rate, I probably don't need more than sixteen with a mana void on top of all of them.

user43095
Four mana pools clustered together for fast charging and three rapidly replenishing each one.

9:24 PM
Do sparks have to be on top of pools?
Otherwise you could do one spark with 4 pools
then have that stacked 4 times

@Ieuan they do

@Jochem :(
