@terdon, just want to say, I appreciate your decision re: mikeserv. I don't know all the details of the recent events (nor do I particularly want to) but I had myself noticed his general tendency to argue in the comments and I hope the suspension prompts him toward a reevaluation of his behavior.
@mikeserv, if/when you read this...I really do hope you can move on past the suspension, and not get stuck in a protest against it. I've found your take on shell scripting questions to be unique and clever on many occasions, and I really feel you can continue to provide great value to the community here...but at the same time, the value you provide doesn't eradicate the need for polite behavior and recognizing that others here are people also.
@MichaelHomer Yes - I completely agree with the principle that discussing people when they can't answer is a bad thing, but it'd be nice to have it in the FAQ. As it stands now, the closest thing I can find is the one about being courteous to other users.
@FaheemMitha I'm heading out to the horsey in about an hour and a half - I plan on riding indoors, so I don't want to cut into his outdoors time. All the horses come in and get their afternoon meal at about 3.30, so if I get there around that time he can get to eat while I take care of his bridle and saddle, and then I can ride.
@FaheemMitha At this time of year the days are so short that you really have to plan your time... if I wanted to go riding out of doors I'd be there already. The sun sets at 4.17 today.
@FaheemMitha No, I just saw Childish Things yesterday. It was a good episode
@FaheemMitha We can ride on the roads as well, there's very little traffic out there on the small farm roads, and there are some fields that we can ride on as well as forest paths. But you can't go at any speed in the dark. If there's snow and a full moon it's different, then you can ride almost as well as during the day.
@FaheemMitha Like superhero movies/series? Not with the superhero stuff as such - I can accept a world where vampires and Slayers exist, or where Supergirl does, on their own terms. If my suspension of disbelief falters, it'll be because the people within that setting don't work within it, like if their reactions to the setting don't work for that character, and so on.
@JennyD I must admit part of me has difficulty watching a slip of a girl fly up into the sky and catch a plane. The Kryptonian power set doesn't so much violate the laws of physics as ignore them, so it can be a little bit hard for me.
@FaheemMitha She doesn't have enough mass to do some of the fighting things she does. Strength and agility can only take you so far, you need actual mass too.
@FaheemMitha Yes, from my point of view it's magic. They can call it whatever they like, but since their physics has no relation to our Earth physics, it equals magic to me.
Though it's unclear what kind of Physics that would have to be, to be indistinguishable from ours most of the time, but have the "Kryptonian exception" built in.
Oh, well, there are other exceptions too, of course.
Also very special biology. Not just eyes that can shoot laser beams, but how does a Kryptonian on earth manage to avoid destruction everywhere he or she goes? I mean, if he/she shakes hands with someone, he/she should rip the others arm clean off. Just as an example...
At one point they had Kara break a stapler accidentally, which was funny.
@FaheemMitha she tried to help a teacher get some slides out of a slide tray and broke it... she broke a bottle just holding it and getting upset once, she lifted an entire huge metal thingy when she tried working in the building trade

;) Google ist your friend. please inform yourself about bind mounts link or bindMounts . Once you understood this, read the C code of the btrfs tools (which i did to investigate the issue). Fact 1: Bind mounts exist. Fact 2: There is no code in btrfs progrs, which deals with bind mounts. Fact 3: Try to run it btrfs and falsify any facts stated here. — Mandragor4 hours ago
Irony doesn't carry well over the Internet. I don't understand whether he's realized that I wrote “link”.
"When a mixer control is turned off, M (mute) appears below the volume bar. When it's turned on, O in green appears instead. You can toggle the switch via m key."
it's... what happened after changing output devices on pavucontrol
Yes.
I saw the notification message of showing master volume muted, turned on alsamixer, and discovered both headphone and speaker are muted, so I unmuted them.
