what i find odd is that the centos7 sed man page documents the -c option, but there's no mention of it under /usr/share/doc, no changelog or patch notes. there's no indication that it's anything but standard GNU sed 4.2.2...and sed 4.2.2-7.1 on my debian sid box doesn't have -c. if they're going to patch it, they should document that fact.

@StephenKitt i figured it must have been a patch....but IMO the fact that it was a patched version of sed should have been indicated in the documentation included in the package. Their users have a right to know things like that and, IMO, it's a little disrespectful to the authors of GNU sed(although that's just good manners / etiquette, not a requirement of the GPL).
 
@cas I agree, it should be noted in the documentation (including in the manpage)
