@Izzy thanks but nothing worked for me -droid explorer was promising but xp didn't allow it. Did the hard way and lost data- mostly bookmarks of battery stuff but that's OK. Thanks

@beeshyams You still could extract those bookmarks from the ADB backup to re-enter them manually ;)

What's the best way to backup my SD card when phone is connected via USB?

Before, with my old phone, I had Media Storage, and I had a batch .bat with xxcopy...

But now with MTP instead of Media Storage, I don't have a drive letter, and I don't know how to backup... Help :)

@Basj Would initiating the sync from your Android device and going via WiFi (your local router) be acceptable?

If so, FolderSync might be an option. If not: maybe MyPhoneExplorer can help here. I'm not 100% sure what features it supports in full (I'm not a Windows user, and that app requires a Windows client), so I cannot really tell – but might be worth a look.
