@Izzy: Another one of its kind app for F-Droid repo , incidentally located for another bounty question- spent a lot of time to find this . Very rich in analysis

5 hours later…
10:16 AM
@beeshyams Thanks! That was already on my list here. Additionally linked it here now, and linked to your answer as well (+1)

10:38 AM
@Izzy thanks, should have checked your list and saved time for myself in discovering it and your time as well :)

@beeshyams Heh :) Nah, I'm thankful for your notice. I always like to link useful resources. You know how it is when you're looking for something: self-appraisal in the app's desc is one thing, but user reports on how (well or not) it works help for the decision :)

As we all know, Modding android sometimes involves a lot of waiting. So, out of curiosity, what do you do when you are waiting for your backupos to finish, or installing a ROM (or whatever?)
Personally, I use it to worm through a Ten hour 'What is Love'
Also @Izzy I was looking at CSPloit, and I was wondering if 'can change the look of webpages' can be counted as a concern? It would be in my book (unless, like some, you use it on a friends WiFi to replace all Google searches with bacon. Mmmm!)

@DanBrown Well, it's listed in my network diagnosis list. "Dual use" is the term here.
And: \o/ Magic point: my repo now serves 150 apps :)

Good job! Fair point with The dual term. It was just a thought on my end (I use CSploit a lot)

10:27 PM
@DanBrown Justified considerations and valid concerns. Einstein once said if he'd known the results of his research, he'd become a watchmaker instead. So better always think twice :)

@Izzy Heh, another quote. Got a lot of them lately, eh?

@DanBrown Lately? Want my list? And that was an indirect quote. But especially Einstein and Mark Twain have a very special place in that list :)
> Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Might fit on multiple posts on our site #D
> The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax.
I agree with him.
Oh, and my "indirect quote" was slightly off:
> If I had only known, I would have been a locksmith.
Switching to Twain:
> Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
or:
> Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
Good advice, heh? :)
And for those tending to take all printed stuff literally:
> Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint.
OK, I stop here :)

@Izzy Lol. (A collection of) Wise words

10:42 PM
Yeah, I just picked the best of my collection. There are many more. The plain-text file is 150k :)
Using that source for my random tagline creator (on my mails), with a little Perl script picking one at random. Sometimes I get the imagination that Perl script is an AI, as the line picked matches the mail content that well #D

@Izzy Bizzare idea for you then, a random on generates on your site when a visitor arrives. Go Forbes on it (lol)

@DanBrown Crossed posts :) Good guess with the "random generator", congrats #D
Btw: This one could have been from Einstein, too:
> The two most common elements in the universe are Hydrogen and stupidity.
But it isn't (it's Harlan Ellison)

...... And I'm not sure about hydrogen (is part of that too, I think)

> There are two things that are infinite; Human stupidity and the universe. And I'm not sure about the universe.
Yepp.
And in this context:
> Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
(Rich Cook)

I'll accept that one is true. I've seen both sides.

10:50 PM
@DanBrown LOL Me too :)

Just went and checked the review tabs. Speaking of idiots, there are 36 questions with a close vote pending, and I can't check 'em (yay). Idiots!

Yeah. And every now and then, one of them even gets elected.
> They said, in this country everyone can become president. After some elections, I can believe that.
I don't remember the source, unfortunately.

UK: Cammie was out Of touch. US: Pick your idiot. The one that cannot keep hold of data, or the one that would probably knock out and tea-bag Putin.

Ah, there it is:
> When I was a boy I was told that anybody could become President. Now I'm beginning to believe it.
(Clarence Darrow)

That's a SIG. If the times if I saw one.

10:58 PM
@DanBrown LOL Who's who? #D

Clinton apparently leaked 20,000 Emails, and Trump would Tea-bag Putin. Apparently, people will be picking Dwane "The Rock" Johnson for their vote.

OK, gotta go. 1am here, and I've got a long day coming tomorrow. Ooops, today...
@DanBrown Good idea – can't be worse than the other two.

Night @Izzy

See ya Izzy

And btw, Trump also was caught with his insecure mail servers.
Yeah, thanks @Edity & @DanBrown – night, and see ya around!

11:01 PM
True. How is it going @Edity
See ya, Izzy.

nothing yet

Shame. I guess general natter is on the cards then lol. If you needs some quotes, look up

okay

Huh. If I turn my brightness down, the screen turns off. If I then let go of where the slider should be, I can only reset the brightness via factory reset. Whyyyy?

BUGS

11:11 PM
@DanBrown it could be a problem with the voltage regulator in the screen's backlight; I saw a similar problem once where turning the brightness up would make it go black because it tripped a voltage protection circuit

brr, that reminds me of Failsung note 7

well, this was on a dev board, not a production phone

@DanHulme Probably. It started when I flashed CM 12.1 - Though its too stable for me to complain ATM. Just gonna have to make a tasker profile to keep it up past a certain point.

or CM's fault

ah, probably an error in the driver for the backlight then

11:16 PM
@Edity & @DanHulme Again, possibly: I'm using an unstable Beta build, since its the only one available. Very stable though, just brightness.

yeah
