Q: Requirements for Touchdown Catch Near the Goal Line

NateWhen a ball carrier has possession in the field of play, and carries the ball toward the end zone, the requirement for scoring a touchdown is that the ball cross the plane of the goal line. The position of the player's body parts is irrelevant, so long as he is not out-of-bounds, or down. For a...

@IceBoy this. absolutely amazing :P they gave the patriots a hard time, but they look like they are impersonating professional football players in a raiders uniform...

user46190
@Seth yes. did you see the bucs at the steelers? another good game.

user46190
also, carolina is getting stomped...

3:04 PM
@edmastermind29 it appears that NE will cover the -3 tonight.

user46190
@IceBoy so, that's your pick?

Yep.

user46190
@IceBoy jamaal charles is expected to play but the chiefs aren't impressive this season thus far

@edmastermind29 what is your pick?

user46190
@IceBoy ill go ne as well

3:09 PM
I would prefer -2.5 ;-)
Of course.

user46190
@IceBoy so you'd get the solid win haha

user46190
i don't like ne, but they have a hall-of-fame qb and coach

Yes, they are in the hall of shame after admitting spying on the jets

user46190
@IceBoy of all teams. had they spied on them during the 2012 season, it would have been downright embarrassing.

user46190
i've said since sb 42, ne won't win a sb with brady at qb...and it has somehow held up. they've had their chances.

3:15 PM
Yep, let the dynasty crumble

user46190
@IceBoy #questforsix....wins

:D
Quest to repeat the 06 season of 2 wins.

user46190
@IceBoy y'all have a chance. just saying.

user46190
on the other hand, the chargers are looking good.

The schedule is stacked against us.
Nov. starts with Seattle Denver and the charger then the chiefs.

user46190
3:20 PM
@IceBoy but for the pats....miami, minnesota, oakland, kansas city first four weeks. they won the division...aren't they supposed to have the "toughest" schedule?

user46190
@IceBoy omg that's harsh

The league head office hates the raiders.

user46190

Just because we are the first team to put a woman in our head office
Thanks for the memories @edmastermind29 the visual really locks it in its place.
Don't ya love the internet :D

user46190
@IceBoy anytime :) love how his hand completely stops, then the ball comes out. whoever thought up to challenge the play as the tuck rule better be getting wined and dined the rest of his life because i bet (get it? lol) that nobody else would have thought to do that. even brady thought it was a fumble for goodness sakes.

3:30 PM
Yes, common business interests will always be apart of pro sports >8(

user46190

You should change your username @edmastermind29 to edmaster gif 29 :-)

user46190
@IceBoy you may be on to something :P

The master gifer?

user46190
@IceBoy okay, you're just trying to cover the spread now. stop while you're ahead :D

3:42 PM
The mastermind of gifs is on my side, I can't lose.

dear NFL writers, you finally gave up on Dallas as a playoff contender. Thanks!

-2.5 all day tonight @waxeagle

user46190
@waxeagle i see 8-8 again...although they had their way with an underachieving saints team

user46190

@edmastermind29 I would not be surprised to see 8-8 again. They'll likely have a wk 17 shot at a playoff spot again and lose.

user46190
3:47 PM
@waxeagle last three years...had a chance, lost to a division rival who went to the playoffs. that logic means the redskins win the division this year...although cousins was downright awful on TNF

yeah, doutful that will happen. Ideally it will be a situation where the outcome of the Giants v Eagles game will be irrelevant and Dallas just has to win to be in (and the winner of the Eagles/Giants game gets in if Dallas loses).

user46190
@waxeagle yeah. most of the nfl has been wishy-washy this season...

I haven't watched a game, but no one seems dominant....

user46190
@waxeagle chargers look good. cincy has a defense. arizona is a dark horse. seattle/denver doesn't look as dominant as they were last season (here's to hoping denver turns it around after the bye week...and learn that they cannot run the ball the save their lives right now)

user46190
then again, wins over buffalo and jacksonville for the chargers aren't much to celebrate about. denver had streaks of great play each game, and came back against the seahawks...which is something considering the atrocity that was the super bowl.

3:55 PM
@edmastermind29 yeah, that's part of why I'm still a bit skeptical about the 'boys (even if I'm super happy they've had a good start), their one legit game so far they lost.
(the Saints should be a tough test, but they've been a bad road team for a while, and they seem legit bad this year)

4:17 PM
Too legit.
Too legit to quit :-)

Q: Specific offside question

The goalkeeper drops the ball to feet in order to play (not having noticed the attacker loitering behind). The attacker springs to action a...

Q: How do over-archievers and/or professional athletics overcome summit syndrome?

hhhHBR covers the syndrome here and here. I have experienced this in some many different areas such as football: what the hxll you need to do next when you have achieved everything you wanted? To become better, you need so much more investment such as time, new shoes, advanced training partners, bet...

Q: How does the NFL decide which teams play in London?

pacoverflowHow does the NFL decide which teams play in London every season? Do any teams actually volunteer to play in London, considering the jet lag and also the fact that you might have to give up a home game? Does the NFL provide any sort of compensation to the teams that play in London?
