Otherwise, I forbid it.

I think I seen it in the manual of a terminal I downloaded for android

Do they finally have a decent Python on Android yet?

No not at all
They have good ones for java and c++, but not python. I really wish they did

@Shog9 lol yes, last time I brought it up so much people were so sick of it and didn't want to hear anything related to it... meta.programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/3718/… :)

Oh yeah still never found an answer How can someone get and decompile the code on an alarmclock or something just as simple

@AaronHall I'm not sure what kind of answer is being asked for with that question, especially from the SE Community Managers

I think we should change StackExchange to AaronHAll for all sites

They all come from well meaning naïfs on SO - just pop up a tool-tip when they type in programmers.stackexchange.com - "please only recommend programmers if you're absolutely certain it's on-topic and a good question for the site"

I honestly don't know what kind of questions you would ask on here.
just never cchecked

Well, anyways, we also need a wizard to help new questioners - and make it optional for veterans too. I'd use it.
I'd probably ask more questions if I felt more confident it wouldn't get closed.

8:54 PM
@AaronHall am I a vet?

I did a well received self Q&A recently, but I was rather worried it would be closed or found a dupe: stackoverflow.com/questions/36106712
And I still did my due diligence.

I'd be happy to get a qquestion or answer with 10+ vote

finding concurrency/multithreading bugs for my team to deal with. #theyloveme
they do love me, since my program identified a reproducible case for this bug and let us fix it. Woot!

Yay, enderland created value for his team!

Congrats!
@BarryTheHatchet I got your new name - MajesticSuperBean

"Hi, it looks like you're writing a question!"

@AaronHall it was significant value, this presumably is going to fix a bug that is affecting other teams in our prod environment (but they couldn't reliably reproduce)

Did you have some holdouts arguing it didn't exist and prove them wrong?

No, it just took all day to diagnose the root issue
The other bugs no one could reproduce and luckily my testing app could 100% of the time :)
which turns out to be really useful when debugging race conditions...

Race condition: have information on state, but state changes before you can act on it.
amiright?

@AaronHall eh. you could argue that's a good definition but i would say more generally it's about doing things in the wrong order

9:16 PM
I would say more "stuff happens in an indeterminate and inconsistent order, which sometimes causes problems"

@DeliriousSyntax Like as the head of the company sort of thing?

2.
Jeff Atwood and Joel Spolsky.
(I hope I spelled their names right.)

WHat are their main roles?

Joel is the CEO, IIRC.

Avram Joel Spolsky (born 1965) is a software engineer and writer. He is the author of Joel on Software, a blog on software development, and the creator of the project management software Trello. He was a Program Manager on the Microsoft Excel team between 1991 and 1994. He later founded Fog Creek Software in 2000 and launched the Joel on Software blog. In 2008, he launched the Stack Overflow programmer Q&A site in collaboration with Jeff Atwood. Using the Stack Exchange software product which powers Stack Overflow, the Stack Exchange Network now hosts over 100 Q&A sites. == Biography == Spolsky...
@AshleyNunn I thought it wouldve been on stackexchange instead of overflow
Juan kinda reminds me of Dwayne Johnson
Wow, some of those people are really young. How could you possibly get such a big part of something at such a young age

so he's responsible for pretty much every single one of my headaches in the past year or so
