First answer: "no, no-one has ever done this" second answer "I have done this".
I kinda felt I had to answer that one even though there are repeated references to the idea already and actually good answers to the exact question asked.

@nhinkle big news here is that Belgium has waffles
and that @Batman is probably quite jealous right now
@Mσᶎ I passed that question by several times before I stopped and looked at it. Its not something I have any interest in whatsoever but it is such a well-written question I thought it deserved an upvote.
And, yeah, I think there's a lesson there in "never say never".

1:14 PM
waffles!

ideas for breakfast?

waffles.
the obvious choice
ive never been to belgium so i dont knwo what they eat for breakfast there

Let's hope they look as good as that photo
well I had a nice hotel breakfast. Lots of bread by the looks of things, similar to France
That was the shop window of someplace quite touristy. There was a lace shop next door

lace=lingere?

no, as in like old embroidery stuff. I had to walk further on before I hit the lingerie shops

1:23 PM
ah

but they were worth it

haha

nice pattern.

lace like this. Stupid crazy money 100s of €

1:27 PM
o_O

I went to 2 bike shops, got Mrs PeteH some bright, flower-designed panniers for christmas

ooh neat

maybe she'll start riding her bike now

but wont they get all muddy quite quickly?

not given how often she rides :-D
Because cycling is so common here, the shops have quite fashionable "girly" designs. At home cycling is more macho, if you want panniers they have to be black.

1:40 PM
indeed.

But 95% of the cycling here is sit-up-and-beg. I suspect if you wanted a road bike, for example, you'd need to travel to find a specialist shop. Which, again, is unlike home. I suppose the markets are different

1:55 PM
The panniers are the same kind of material as, say. a wipe-clean tablecloth. So they should hose clean it it came to it. But yeah, can't get that at home.

I suppose @PeteH and @Batman you aren't familiar with Stack Exchange's rich history of waffles?

oh?
do tell

Well, there's a waffles tag on MSE for starters.
And the 404 page for MSO is waffles-related.

ah
it doesnt change the fact that i want waffles

And there's a classic picture somewhere I'm trying to find

4:03 PM
hello
we got huge earthquake today in Nagano - little far from Tokyo so it just little shaking here. But now TV shows broken houses and the stuff.

4:18 PM

1 hour later…
5:38 PM
Looks you are having good time in Belgium, @PeteH
