yeah - there's is/was a flag on the answer that when combined with that edit, would have removed teh whole safety recall notice completely.

i think you should keep the recall there.

I think both

@Criggie it's also in a comment. But the comment is not something I think key info should rely on.
@Criggie yeah, hence my upvote + reject :)

yeah - se says "comments are considered ephemeral"

@Criggie I quite regularly delete my comments once they become invalid. Lots of "I think you should edit" type stuff

12:03 AM
yeah totally
what happens to the rep points on a deleted comment ?
do they vanish too ?

I don't think you get rep for comments, the upvotes just count towards something deep in your profile that says "comments with more than 10 upvote: 12" or something

yeah
theres some badges for it

ok, there's a badge for comments with a score of five: bicycles.stackexchange.com/help/badges/24/pundit

pundit

That should be for puns, though.
I suspect a pun badge would be beyond the current badge system, though.

12:11 AM
yep.

I think my keyboard skills are getting obsolete when I can see that I type faster when using Swype on my phone.

heh.

Mind you, I can't type as fast as I used to. The pass mark in my HS typing class was 60 WPM.
Bring on the AI-Mindreader ...

im guessing that was on typewriters?

5:35 AM
Yep. Electric. Some were even golf ball types. With the latest erasable type ribbon.
Brazil pretty much captures it ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazil_(1985_film)

I could easily type 60 commands a minute

Its not a giant injection - that gives quite wrong google results.
(don't google Giant Injection btw)

I would also feel funny if I broke a chainstay.
And not in a good way.
its a giant rincon. at least in teh US market, that was their second from bottom
for a while. now i think it might be bottom

12:58 PM
Impressive. I assume the chainstay lost strength from a weld that caused the heat treatment to go wonky and it wasn't retreated. :-(
Or your coworkers has quads of steel.

Or just general fatigue.
or just general fatigue; it happens, eventually, either by wear or dumb luck

6:33 PM
Turns out it has a frame warranty for life, so he's going to try that first.

or just general fatigue; it happens, eventually, either by wear or dumb luck

7:39 PM
shrug I doubt they'll give him a new frame. And if they do it'll be pro-rated against usage.
so "its 11 years old, we will charge you 90% of the cost and give you 10% of the cost under warranty"

7:56 PM
yeah

Bike path this morning.

Climate change!

you had your chainsaw in your bike toolpack ?

...got stuck in and cleare the way ?

It's not a clearway in that pic!

11:27 PM
Push through it with your load bike and it will become clear :))))
Having been on a 4WD trip with a humvee, yeah following the widest vehicle is good :)
@andy256 andy: The whole wheel could probably be relaced onto a proper TA hub, but I miss the 42 reference ? Is it because the 142mm width and the multiple 42s in the URL he provided ?

evil laugh Hitchhikers Guide reference :-)

I know 42 is the answer, but the joining bit escapes me
Oh
the hub WANTS to be a ta hub

I'm slow

11:56 PM
@Criggie or it will fall down, and I don't think a bike helmet is going to help in that case. I weaved through the branches trying not to touch anything.
