Traffic lights may affect the speed a lot... Most people I see on the streets here in Tokyo are riding on the heaviest gear they have. All the time. They all look like one-geared hipsters but I guess this is what they are aiming for. And their start from the traffic lights is extremely slow, I guess it may be the same issue with the topic starter?

bah - you spoiled the serenity!
gidday :)

Gooddag, @Criggie. I'd love to spoil the serenity much more often but seems like monologue is not the most productive way to communicate.

I have a cycling in the Netherlands question.
What's the bus infrastructure like in the cycling capital of the world?
Here, our council subsidise bus trips by a huge factor, because fares alone don't pay for the costs.
So, if there was no bus support and all that money was tipped into bikes, would it serve more people?
So bus operators can still run on routes that make a profit, but all the late night runs where the $27/km bus carries one person for 5 km who paid $3 for the whole trip, they'd be gone.
Opinions?

@Batman yes and no. I have eaten part of a giant cabbage before, but not one I grew. Our cabbages "at the house" don't get quite that big. Also, because of global warming, I am guessing that will go away. We have an alarming trend of rainy summers going on here that will likely change current agricultural norms over the next several years.

agricultural noms ?

Sure, that too.
