@Criggie be grateful. It was only about 30 yesterday, but 90% humidity. I got home had a cold shower, got out and was sweating again by the time I got to the kitchen. Bah!
If your city/town/area doesn't provide separation between you and stupid drivers, it's time to move. Fairbanks "BFE" Alaska has a significant network of bike paths to keep me away from the hundreds of Southerns in big trucks that get shipped up here every year, completely unprepared to drive on ice.
I was down in Ann Arbor, MI recently which is touted as "bicycle friendly". I am scured now. That place is a shit hole of unmarked bike lanes and sidewalks that end in curbs randomly.
If I lived there I would just take the bus, because apparently "bicycle friendly" just means no one there is trying to kill you on purpose.
A $15 BMX and guy is asking "was this stolen?" Nah, bro, you just found an amazing philanthropist who just dresses like a drug addict. I'm inclined to flag it as off topic ... but on the other hand, that sort of question with a chorus of "stolen, you arsehole" may help future crime supporters.
Heh "will running a 12 speed derailleur on an 11 speed system work perfectly" ... "no, 11 and 12 speed systems never work perfectly even brand new in the shop" (I am old and cynical)
was used for an "automatic bike" in the 1970's IIRC.
Management have a new thing where they ask questions, insist it's important and urgent... then run away. Presumably they have learned to keep the maniacal cackling inside their heads. By the time I have an answer they have left the building.
I did something almost as funny. While testing something using his phone I set a custom ringtone on my contact. So now when I ring him he gets a really awful siren sound. soundbible.com/1937-Tornado-Siren-II.html
The funny part is that apparently his phone was on the seat in the car, so it took him a while to find it. And the ringtone played through the speakers in the car. So next time I'm going to use an Oz police siren noise. I reckon he will pull over before he realises it's his phone.
This is about the third time this week... it's Tuesday. It's the third time in the last day and a half, that he's done this.
The good thing about that is that he does a lot of the customer support. He answers the support phone maybe 1/3 of the time (it's effectively 2nd or 3rd tier support), sometimes more. So he knows where the customer pain points are. And he does site visits when there are major issues. But that also leads to "quick answer this {runs for the door}"
