well, its not minor. 650c is 571, 650b is 584, 700 is 622.
and its pretty old stuff

Ohhh okay sorry I thought it was the interface between rim and tyre

I do see 650b as a bit of a money grab at times. but for riders under say 5'5"
i think its a genuinely good option

So's a raleigh 20 :-P

unless they're disproportionally long legged, like myself.

mah - get a boob reduction
bone reduction
Oh good news - I won an auction for an e-type front derailleur
so I might be able to make my folder into a double chainring
that'll be a 16 speed :)

That's quite cool. Islabikes make excellent kids bikes but are moving away from selling them and prefer renting them out instead. I dunno the pricing model, but the idea is you "buy" the bike at a discount (or perhaps pay a refundable deposit equal to a good chunk of the cost), then return it when your kid grows out of the bike.

I grew up riding walmart or similar bikes
I don't think I've ever seen a high quality kids bike
but even so, you could still pass those around for ages between kids.
my sister got my old bikes
up to a point, anyway. I'm a decent amount taller than her, so at some point it didn't become feasible for her to use my old bikes

The idea is that nicer bikes are nicer to ride, and kids get into it more easily
I've been looking for a bike here for my daughter, but they're all super shitty Chinese things
brakes don't even close on half of them

3:33 AM
its pretty hard to justify the price of a nice bike i think, when you have so many other expenses with kids that age. so i get the program working, but i probably wouldn't do it if i had kids

Maxis needs to re-release simcity (again) with bicycle lanes.

@Batman, that's probably why they want to rent them out now.

Q: Bike modification/alteration

user29991 Base on the photos as shown, is it possible to apply the following modification/s and/or alteration/s: a. replacement of wheels from 20" rear-18" front to 16" both rear and front. b. installation of disc brake since the bike frame and fork is designed for rim brakes. c. replacement of the ...

So, same person has asked the question twice
Both questions have some decent and relevant answers
but the second question has more info
which should be closed as the duplicate? The worse first one would be my choice to close.

@Criggie I agree... so I marked it thus.

would be nice if there was a way to smash two questions together and merge the answer streams
call it the Ghostbuster.

@Criggie yeah.

we have discovered that if you bounce data round the world enough times ... things happen slowly. Using a VPN to route traffic from a european server to AU, so that our "italian" mobile with data roaming has a connection that goes AU-EU-AU-EU-AU and then back... ping times get insane, and the mobile app under test is very, very slow.
Management tell us that they understand this, they just think it should be faster.
We are trying not to suggest moving Italy closer to Australia. Or just waiting, since Australia is moving north at a couple of millimetres a year.

well you ARE going around. Try going straight through. nod

finally a new answer so I can edit without bumping: bicycles.stackexchange.com/questions/43272/…
my inner pedant was really struggling with this one. "How to blah?" bugs me excessively and I suspect it is well on the way to becoming accepted usage.
