I hope this doesn't make it even harder to find bikes with rim brakes.

@alex that is interesting, I know there was talk of the UCI making them legal for the 2015 season, but then the story went quiet.
I think manufacturers will fit disk brakes (did I spell that right?) just because it is something else they can make a profit on
Certainly on my road bike I am perfectly happy with my rim brakes.
I am finding it quite difficult, just generally, getting a handle on the 2015 kit just yet, I don't know if it is more difficult than in previous years. For example a few of the Pro Peloton teams are riding wireless DI2 groupsets, however I can't see anything on Shimano's site to say that it even exists, let alone place an order for one.
(Not that I would go out and buy one, even if they were available.)
I looked on Bianchi's site several months ago, and even their top-of-the-range £8000 bike (Oltre?) was specc'd as coming with a compact chainset. I mean, get real, there's no way that is what the teams are riding.

@alex Hi @alex. We are still yet to decide. Ordered all nights in Bangkok hotel so far, but feeling like going somewhere North for at least a day.
I want to see ruins of the ancient Khmer temples also elephants if possible.
but food is main thing to look for :D
mangoes, durian and stuff!
Do you have any places to recommend there @alex? considering we do not have plenty of time.
also, how about the rainy season there?

Chang Mai up north's nice, takes about a day to get there though. I'm not really sure what there is between Bangkok and Chang Mai, I've only ever just gone straight through.
Thailand's bursting at the gills with good food. It's all over the place. Not really good fruit season though, I think. Not really been paying attention, but all our mangoes are still green and small.
Elephant stuff tends to be in the North. Watch out for dodgy ones, a lot are kidnapped from Burma specifically for the tourist trade.
