@Ampt @GlenH7 how about this:

@M.Krov A masters program will put you on a different career trajectory. It will exclude a great number of options because you will be seen as over qualified. You'll be looking more into the 'research and engineering' aspects of the programming world rather than the 'line of business and getting things done'.

Some kind of "who(1) is hiring what skills(2) and for what levels(3)" would be very good. HackerNews has a monthly roster of this - except that, as you can guess from their audience, their list is entirely of Silicon Valley startups ... not useful for 98% of programming commoners. That said, there's a tangential question whether one wants to be a programming commoner, or a "one-of-a-kind" programmer.

I will suspend the next person that posts a Meta question with only one tag :<. — Yannis ♦ Feb 25 '13 at 2:22

@MichaelT I wound up using Guava for this

user114359
@MichaelT I wonder if there are any rules on SE about this, any official guidance that I have not seen... could make for an interesting showdown.

@Snowman nope. Just yannis. Though I understand why - just required meta tags suck for trying to find things or related posts.

@MichaelT I did think about other tags to add, I agree that more than one is ideal. But I couldn't think of anything.

user114359
My point is, suspending an account over something so trivial with no prior warning of any kind could end up poorly for the person doing the suspending.

I would point out that this is yannis, who claims to delete half of the questions when learning Haskell and he is addressing World in that comment. I doubt he is completely serious.

user114359
@MichaelT I can't take any of our mods seriously anyway. When they address Programmers veterans, they tend to be teddy bears.

user114359
(I am currently cringing as I anticipate an incoming suspension from said mods)

Also, I am very concerned that @gnat has not chimed in with a link for my meta-question. He is the grand master of finding dupes. meta.programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/7657/…

My contribution for the week:
UML was invented by the devil in order to trick well intentioned people into wasting hours of their time in a vain attempt to communicate clearly. — MetaFight 30 secs ago
@Snowman Congrats! Me too. Isn't it awesome?

Q: Hint: Programmers.SE don't do coding help and expect research before asking

gnatLast months we at Programmers are getting rather steady stream of troublesome questions from folks with Math.SE background. One of them was kind enough to explain why they get there: my friends told me that "stack exchange" is undergraduate or master level, and "stack overflow" is PhD or rese...

oooh, let's become ProgrammersOverflow and make Programmers a wild west stack exchange.

@EmpereurAiman This is probably too broad/unclear to be a good Programmers.SE question; without a lot more information about the current architecture of the game this is essentially "how do I get my game objects to communicate with each other?" which is a huge topic. — Ixrec 59 secs ago

@MikeNakis titl e bro ken l ike thi s is probably to make it harder for OP's instructor to find how they cheated at the homework. Luckily, title is corrected now, so that this dump is now easy to discover with simple web search — gnat 5 mins ago
