@gnat I thought there was a multi-minute delay on recalculation of the hotness list. So I could see a question persisting for a little bit after being closed. But not 9 hours, and not for extended rounds of selection post-close.
I need to have a queue mirrored in two distributed servers with WAN between them.
Does the RabbitMQ suit for my situation?
