@Adel hard to tell. Deletion is formally legal, but on the other hand I heard that too much deleted questions can contribute to triggering post-bangnat yesterday
@gnat Downvotes count a lot more than having a few deleted questions. From the OP's perspective it's a lot better to self delete a crappy closed question that let it stick around and potentially (~almost certainly) gather more downvotes.

@YannisRizos interesting. I think I should have guessed it, despite all the secrecy of Q-ban heuristics. Deletion of own closed question at -2, -3 is rather a sign of a good "citizen", one who follows their posts and cleans up stuff deemed unwelcome, it is very likely that "secret heuristics" takes this into account
will use that knowledge in the future

fuck-in-tastic!!!!
above quote is all question - title and text and tags, all of it
quoting OP, "I am totally screwed"
trying hard not to give 'em a fu**
and stick with just the flag I submitted for the speedy deletion

@gnat I generally edit out the most offensive or ranting parts of questions like that along with my close vote. I look at it like this: Just because they put it there doesn't mean I have to let it remain there. So I take full advantage of being well past 2k rep and make the immediate edit. I have also flagged for deletion on that one.

@GlenH7 that's a good edit, I am sorta envy that I didn't figure it. I guess this crap gave me too much anger to use my brain :(

...that's btw why I prefer to stick with flags for speedy deletion in cases like that
when I know my reasoning is compromized by hard feelings, I try to abstain of actions, besides simplest, standardized ones

@gnat it's my kneejerk reaction anymore to things I find horribly wrong. For spam, I'll go in and break the link or delete the reference depending upon how far along it is. For recruiting adverts, I'll remove the contact info. Yes, it can still be found in the revision history, but it's not sitting right there for all to see anymore.

And we'll see how my community outreach efforts go. I kind of think my comments to that question will fall on deaf ears. But that's okay since the Q ought to be deleted.

@GlenH7 lucky you. Hope one day I'll train myself to be able to handle things like that. Regarding editing spam out, I think you better be aware that opinions on whether to edit it differ (although I personally am rather on your side here)

Q: Should Spam posts be edited?

Mad ScientistI noticed that the posts of the recent spam surge on AskUbuntu were all edited by community members into something like EDITED - REMOVED SPAM ANSWER or similar. While I understand why the users have done this and I too don't want to leave the spam content visible for longer than absolutely...

After awarding current one, my second exemplary answer bounty here will probably go to this post. I even already picked a hit-phrase to use in the coming bounty message: "Can new users get used to it? Certainly. But that's incredibly stupid. Remember: we instituted the new system to make it easier for new users. To give them better, more easily digestible close messages. If they have to get used to oddball wording in order to understand things, then the system has failed." — gnat 6 mins ago
funny that this exemplary, well thought out post has already attracted DV from usual gang of anonymous downvoters club at MSO. Funny and fairly familiar. Some things never change

we're lucky here that guessing game kind questions are rare. But, I managed to find one :)
"...these questions aren’t educational in any way, because there’s no way to learn about the process of discovery. A particular community member, by virtue of their experience in the field, just happens to be able to take the limited information you remembered and fill in enough of the blanks to guess the correct answer... guessing game questions do not meet our goal of making the Internet better." We’ve observed a particular pattern of questions emerging on several Stack Exchange sites.

All these questions are effectively guessing games.

I remember myself playing this a bit childish, but in some ways awesome game, where you control a tank, and can pick up and stack turrets (and maybe something else) from enemy tanks you kill. Maybe they also had different platforms (and if it’s one with wheels then technically it’s not a tank, but hey). It was around 2000 (or maybe even earlier) and the game had 3D graphics. …

@gnat It's kind of a balancing act. Usually, I'll just break the link as that prevents an easy click through to the spam site. Or I'll remove contact information. But I now try to leave the post as it was so others can flag as spam. I have done a complete removal once, but that one was pretty offensive and I didn't want it staying up.

@GlenH7 agree. The very fact that there is no strong community consensus indicates that things aren't straightforward, that there is some balance of different factors / forces here.

The producer–consumer problem (also known as the bounded-buffer problem) is a classic example of a multi-process synchronization problem. The problem describes two processes, the producer and the consumer, who share a common, fixed-size buffer used as a queue. The producer's job is to generate a piece of data, put it into the buffer and start again. At the same time, the consumer is consuming the data (i.e., removing it from the buffer) one piece at a time. The problem is to make sure that the producer won't try to add data into the buffer if it's full and that the consumer won't try to rem...
Producer-consumer... producer... consumer... producer! consumer!

Q: From a high level programming perspective, where does the 'different-paradigm' barrier between C# and F# really kick in?

user666254I'm aware that they both use different programming paradigms, but from a high level perspective apart from differing syntax it seems most basic tasks can be achieved in similar fashion. I only say this because when I've previously touched functional programming languages such as Haskell, writin...
