11:00 PM
And if webster's dictionary has definition for it, that's a word

I don't use it often though. When I see it reminds me of a Nina Simone song (for those who like blues), "ain't got no, I got life"

package is build, but i don't see updates there
yes !!!

@IanC about the only thing I remember from English classes in school is "ain't ain't a word".
@Serg you've laid the ground work for collective action lawsuit against Webster's filed by my former English teachers!

Ain't is common, especially in rural areas
it's not an Oxford word, but it's a word

@IanC I heard about Nina Simone a decade ago I think. Is she Canadian like me?
@Zacharee1 So it ain't common in the cities? :p
I think I'll search all of AU looking for the word "ain't" and changing it to "isn't" just so you can reject my edits :)

11:13 PM
@WinEunuuchs2Unix I think she is american

I'll google her and confirm.

she has tons of great songs :)
the most famous one is "Feelin' good"

@WinEunuuchs2Unix You have 3k rep. We haven't been able to reject your edits for the past 1k

Oh she died in 2003... I'm thinking of a younger jazz / pianist... probably chinese canadian and not african american.
@Zacharee1 LOL... I feel so sorry for your frustration :D
I'll ask @NathanOsman how he got his AU shadow website setup so I can quickly search for the word "ain't"...hehe

@Zacharee1 how are your merges ? are they sorting out ?
( see what i did there ?)

11:16 PM
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Huh?

oops sorry Nathan thought you were sleeping.

@Serg I already had a headache.... You just made it worse -_-

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Nope :D

Hate to say it but you have to scroll ^^^^ to see what we were talking about... ain't ain't a word.

@Zacharee1 mission for the day accomplished, you welcome my dear

11:17 PM
@Serg I honestly thought you were talking about Git

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Here's what you're looking for: data.stackexchange.com
You can run SQL queries on the data dump.

@Serg You sound like you're from India. I can't tell you how many people who speak Hindi or Urdu natively have called me "dear"

@Zacharee1 I was talking about git a few posts ago, but "merges working out with sorts" is supposed to be a pun on merge sort. Wait till you get to quicksort . . . My puns will get even better ( or worse, depending on your perspective )

@Serg I actually don't think we're going to be doing that

@Zacharee1 I had to do Merge Sort in ASSEMBLER back in school, maybe I can remember that for you :)

11:20 PM
@Zacharee1 that's good. Quicksort is too headache-inducing imho . . . Merge sort is far easier to understand. Personally, I prefer gnome-sort , which is sort of better version of bubble sort

I'm not going to ping him like last time

@WinEunuuchs2Unix @KazWolfe
@Serg gnome-sort? as in GNOME-sort? :D

@Zacharee1 nope, has nothing to do with GNOME . . . .thank god for that

oopsie I wiped out my beautiful ASSEMBLER Merge Sort joke at Kaz.

@Serg no, really? I thought GNOME made it...

11:21 PM
Gnome sort (or Stupid sort) is a sorting algorithm originally proposed by Dr. Hamid Sarbazi-Azad (Professor of Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology) in 2000 and called "stupid sort" (not to be confused with bogosort), and then later on described by Dick Grune and named "gnome sort". It is a sorting algorithm which is similar to insertion sort, except that moving an element to its proper place is accomplished by a series of swaps, as in bubble sort. It is conceptually simple, requiring no nested loops. The average, or expected, running time is O(n2), but tends towards O(n) if...

@WinEunuuchs2Unix @KazWolfe
@Serg hang on, lemme make it more sarcastic

Anyway @Zacharee1 from what I remember about Merge Sort you use it when two lists are already in sorted order. If it's one list of unsorted item you are better off with bubble sort.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix there, I made an SQL query for you: data.stackexchange.com/askubuntu/query/561761/find-aint

oh god

Stop pinging me every two seconds!!!!... My TV sub-woofer is giving me a headache.

11:23 PM
^--- basically asking for it :P

Plus the 100 watts is a waste of electricity and you are contributing to climate change :D

Oh, no . . .

@WinEunuuchs2Unix TURN DOWN YOUR SOUND
@WinEunuuchs2Unix PROBLEM SOLVED

I think i lost my .c file with gnome sort implementation

Q: How to make Runescape work on 12.04?

AlexI'm trying to play Runescape on Chromium, but it runs really slowly. I have IcedTea Java from the Software Center. I had to install it for the game to work at all, but it's not playable. Does anyone have some good settings for me to use, or do I need a better way to have Java and Chromium work ...

@Serg dun. Dun DUNNNNN

I wish I could change the ping sound in this chat room to something nice like a sweet sexy female voice saying "I Love You"

All I could think was, "Does runescape still exists?"

@WinEunuuchs2Unix You can.

@NathanOsman QUICK... Tell me how!!!!

Q: SE Chat custom notification sound

Lekensteyn Screenshot / Code Snippet About Someone found the current *beep* sound annoying and asked for a way to change the sound. Such a feature did not exist, so I created this UserScript which adds a button next to the notification settings button. This button opens a popup which allows you to ...

T_T

You'll have to supply the recording though :P

@Zanna what was it you wanted to talk about?
@Serg blood? Also, interesting message ID: 33090990

I wouldn't call that a high "beep" sound, I would call it a low sub-woofer testing "thunk" sound.

@Zacharee1 that's signifyng my 33k of rep

11:28 PM
wat

also , i found it

@NathanOsman I'll just go around town asking sexy females to say "I Love you" into my smartphone and then upload it.... yeah that'll land me in jail quickly :P

@Serg yay!

because i kept printouts of my hw

now to just transcribe a C program

11:29 PM
54 lines, easy enough

so you know how we get a lot of questions here that show a blatant lack of care?
Well how's this for lack of research:

waits for link on one of his questions

Someone asked "how can I root" on XDA Forums. This might not be so bad, but they asked it in the thread for KingRoot

pheww off the hook

KingRoot! The "One-click root app for almost all devices"
@WinEunuuchs2Unix just you wait

11:31 PM
hehe... STOP THUNKING ME
It's a 400 dollar sub-woofer and I want it to last.

So what if I picked it up for 80 bucks from Memory Express... It's the thought of retail suggested price that counts.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix WELL TURN IT DOWN!

...or use the script to change it.

you're literally creating conflict where none is needed

11:32 PM
I can't turn it down because I'm watching news on TV... US elections and stuff.

Stack Overflow chat has a nice pleasant ping.
Just a nice "ding" noise.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix have you heard of the volume mixer?

Your link just downloaded something called "served.mp3"

11:33 PM
Yeah
don't click it

just mute the tab...

you need to copy it into the userscript config

(not pinging you)

@Fabby Mr. M!

sleepless night.

11:34 PM
Haha send me a link and tell me not to click it... that's funny. I only run .mp3 on my smartphone, I run .ogg on Ubuntu... <<<< I'm musically challenged.

@Fabby I know that situation well

fell asleep and just woke up at01:00

@WinEunuuchs2Unix you. copy. the. link. to. paste. into. the. script.

duly noted Fabby and many thanks, how's Angela Merkel today?

Hey, I just live here; I don't have the right to vote!

11:35 PM
ugghhh Zach for crying out loud I'm going to use Nathan's female sexy voice solution anyway.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix OK

My neighbours will sue you! hehe
Fabby you can influence the voters by telling them what Canada thinks of her open borders policy to encourage people to drown in the Mediterrean and/or get blocked from progressing past Hungary.

o_O

Fabby Angela and the Christian Democratic Party have been in power too long... it's time for change.

Christian... Democracy?
alrighty

11:39 PM
It's GermanyZach... they're still licking their wounds
looking for new identity after WWII
I should go there for Octoberfest and teach them how to drink beer :D
@NathanOsman thanks for the link but it has a licensing agreement and references Chromium 12 but I'm on like Chrome 54 or some astronomical number like that.
Ugghh.... watching Al-Jazeera story on Lebanon just now... it's like a giant garbage dump.

^_^ i'm so happy i found my gnome sort again. I remember when i was studying C it took me quite a few pains and efforts to understand this stuff

@Serg I'm glad you are in a good mood tonight!
I wonder if @Celtic Warrior knows this chat room exists. I just approved 3 of his edits and he's a very hard worker.
Anyone else notice Owen Hines and Terrace disappeared a week ago?

11:54 PM
Terrance has work , Owen Hines probably does too

Owen is in grade 9, I suspect his parents cut off his internet so he could improve his grades in school.

oh . . . Could be

He signed up October 4th and in 10 days his month score was higher than mine.
But then I discovered point reporting system and passed him... plus you too :)
But then again I'm just a warehouse receiver with no life and you should focus on your Electrical Engineering degree first and this place second... you'll make 100K+ when you are successful in EE.
I can barely touch 40K as a warehouse receiver.
