6:00 PM
Hrm. Bother.

Maybe try sending me one from the Gmail account itself so that we can determine exactly where the problem lies.

Strange, because you're showing up for me as another recipient in Gmail.
Done

And received :P

Strange. Must be the program.

6:02 PM
Okay. More debugging. Eh, at least I know sorta what's causing it this time :)

kos
@terdon I've just checked it, thanks

Does Gmail even allow multiple recipients the way you're doing it?
Do the other senders show up in the To: field when the first person receives the message?

Q: How to send email to multiple recipints using python smtplib?

user1148320After much searching I couldn't find out how to use smtplib.sendmail to send to multiple recipients. The problem was every time the mail would be sent the mail headers would appear to contain multiple addresses, but in fact only the first recipient would receive the email. The problem seems to ...

Other senders?

Is it getting delivered to anybody when you use more than one recipient?

Yeah, the first person gets it.

6:07 PM
Does the first person see the other recipients in the To: field?

Hrm...

Just sent another test email...
Gmail.com says that it's from me to you (I send it to myself as the first recipient, other people as the second)

Gmail has a button for viewing the source.

Just sent another with you as the first recipient

6:10 PM
Hey - something just came in.

Yeah, you were the first recipient that time

Ah :)

So there were two recipients and you were the second one?

Yeah, and I didn't get it

6:12 PM
It's showing two TO: headers in the email.

Yeah...

Subject: Test
From: key...@...
To: nathan@...
To: key...@...

Exactly...gotta figure out how to combine those so they work together correctly :P

Hrm...

I need a standing desk :P

6:15 PM
What happens if you stick "print(str(msg))" on line 73 right before the send() command?
The output of that might help us understand what's going on...
Oh wait a second.
I think I might have found it.

It looks like toaddrs needs to be a list, not a single ","-separated string.

It does. Problem is, if it is a list, then we get AttributeError: 'list' object has no attribute 'encode'

Hrm...
Yeah, this is a weird one.

Yup :P

6:19 PM
Worst case scenario, though - you could just run send() yourself for each recipient.

...true, but lets hope that's not the solution
shows doing msg['To'] = COMMASPACE.join(family). COMMASPACE being COMMASPACE=', ' and family being a list I presume...

user136984
So what is this site? notwhoyouthinkitis.com

user136984
It's very odd...

user136984
I just had to before put it in a similar format to how it was given to me! :D :P

user136984
It's from a trusted source, I'm just wondering if they actually set up a website, or if their example just so happens to already exist! :D :P

6:27 PM
@NathanOsman Anything yet?

Sadly, no.

:(
This is so weird.

user136984
@NathanOsman: Actually, could you just please delete this message as I'm not actually too sure where the link goes and wouldn't want someone to click it! :D As the delete thing is no longer available as too much time has passed.

Done.

user136984
Thanks. :)

6:30 PM
I didn't know you couldn't delete your own messages after time has elapsed.

o/

That... really doesn't make any sense to me.
@mojo706 o/

\o/
long time
looking for some help

user136984
@NathanOsman It's probably so that you can't just be really rude to everyone and then come back and remove it all! :D :P

6:31 PM
on ruby

@Toroidal Only mods can! >:)

@Toroidal That's all fine and well, but there are other reasons for wanting to remove stuff.

user136984
@ByteCommander Yeah, but we trust them! Don't we? ;D :P

We should do...

how long does it take to install ruby

user136984
6:32 PM
@NathanOsman Well, you can flag it up as a serious thing and leave a comment for moderators, but I didn't feel like doing that because it says to only do it for serious things.

on ubuntu

@mojo706 Mere seconds depending on your connection speed.
@Toroidal Right.

I have great speeds
but for some reason it takes too long

user136984
@NathanOsman: But they probably really should have a way of people deleting their own stuff later on, even if a moderator has to then review it and can undelete it.

Moderators can view history.
Although they also have the ability to purge it under extreme situations.

6:36 PM
@A.B. I don't think you needed to delete your answer to that question; though I understand why @karel advised you to do so, I do not agree. Answers that offer the same solution but present and explain it in very different ways should not generally be considered duplicate answers.
Personally, I tend to write rather long answers myself, but I do recognize the value of a shorter, more concrete answer that focuses on what to do rather than on the why or how.
However, if you choose to undelete your answer, I recommend you correct it. The command wget -c http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.2/iso/openSUSE-13.2-DVD-x86_64.iso?‌mirrorlist does not work to download the ISO itself, it only downloads the HTML file listing the various available mirrors, but your answer was written in such a way as to suggest it downloaded the ISO.

@RPiAwesomeness: something came.

@NathanOsman Quick, check your email.

We can haz party now.

it completed

user136984
The nude adverts...

@Toroidal If you're offended by that, I have to admit Fabby was right...

user136984
Why these adverts I can't skip before my Iron Maiden videos?

@karel @EliahKagan It's ok if I undelete my answer? askubuntu.com/a/614950/367165

6:48 PM
Nude adverts on YT? o.O

@RPiAwesomeness: it came.

user136984
@ByteCommander I'm not offended by them... But they get a bit much! Especially when the people in them are really ugly! ;D :P

@NathanOsman Awesome. We've well and truly fixed it! :D

Okay, that I can understand...
Just use ABP.
You're on Firefox now, so use it! :)

user136984
There are so many viruses pretending to be it that I couldn't actually find it! :D

6:50 PM
I never saw any advert on any YT video in my whole life.... >:]

user136984
Could you give me the link please for the actual add-on? :)

@A.B. I do still recommend editing to either clarify what your command does or change it to download the ISO itself. Besides that I think it's a useful answer that will help people and can coexist just fine with karel's more extensive answer.

Oh come on!

I agree.

Go to the add-on centre and search for adblock plus.
The red STOP sign.

user136984
6:51 PM
Ok

There are no virus clones.

@Toroidal Try using uBlock. It's lighter on the computer than ABP and supposedly doesn't allow ads from certain companies like ABP does.

btw, do people think these two questions are the same?
6
Q: Show BSSID of an access point?

stefan.at.wpfI want to get the BSSID for a known SSID, how can I do that? Thanks :-)

6
Q: Get MAC address of a network access point

user1392185How can I find out what the MAC address (BSSID) of the wireless access point I'm connected to is?

user136984
But seriously, just now I was put through this:

user136984
6:52 PM
Some very odd POP... That comes as an advert too... That you can't skip!

user136984
Not really nude like the other stuff...

I closed one as a dupe but I'm not entirely sure they are the same. The wording if the first seems to imply that he wants to get BSSIDs of access points he is not connected to.

user136984
But see through underwear! Seriously?!

user136984
On ugly people?!

user136984
And it's so long and, oh my god... No more!

6:53 PM
@Seth Are there different answers for "for a known SSID" and for "for the access point I am connected to"?
Or do all answers work on both scenarios?

@Seth In that case, the one that's still open would just be a more general version of the one that's closed, right?

@Toroidal uBlock.

@Toroidal ABP

They both work.

I never tried uBlock, so I can't recommend it...

user136984
6:54 PM
I'll try ABP first, and if that doesn't work then the other.

uBlock is just a little lighter.

@EliahKagan yes, I believe so.

Btw who of you is using DuckDuckGo?

ABP will work, I was just offering an lighter alternative if you wanted it. Either one is just fine.

@ByteCommander I think if you're not connected to it, then some of the answers won't apply. And some answers seem specifically targeted to the scenario where you're not connected, such as Rinzwind's answer.

user136984
6:55 PM
@ByteCommander I mostly use it.

@ByteCommander I try to, but I quite often have to go to Google to get what I want (via !g)

@ByteCommander I'm not entirely sure, but I'm trying to find out right now.

@EliahKagan improved askubuntu.com/a/614950/367165

Well, I am considering to replace Google with the Duck...

user136984
I prefer DDG because the images are direct links to the actual content, so that I don't have to copy out the URL to scan them! :D

6:56 PM
>.<

Ok, sudo iwlist scanning shows all visible access points.

One does NOT scan any image link he sees!

user136984
DuckDuckGo is actually much better.

user136984
And also hosts that RoboDuck thing that that JamesKayla guy was going on about! ;D :P

user136984
It turns out that they actually made it!

6:57 PM
sigh You really are ParanoidPanda. Goodness.

user136984
@RPiAwesomeness What? Why?

@A.B. Looks good to me. I just upvoted both answers (yours and karel's) btw.

@Toroidal Scanning image links, always talking about rootkit scanners, talking about people constantly trying to hack you...

@EliahKagan thx :)

Created just for you to remember! >:)

user136984
7:00 PM
@RPiAwesomeness People are not constantly trying to hack me, I have a little too much paranoia with viruses and rootkits, and it's just unfortunate that someone is actually hacking me now! :D :P

So just learn to hack and hack back.

lol, this ^
Backtrack his booty.

Get yourself Kali. Backtrack is dead.

Is wolframalpha.com down for anyone else?

Or that.
@NathanOsman It redirects to an address vendor page for me.

user136984
7:01 PM
The problem is though that the network protocol used has never been cracked, and neither has the encryption.

@RPiAwesomeness Sorry, typo :P

user136984
So I don't know what they are saying to my machine! :D

@NathanOsman Nope, all good.

user136984
@ByteCommander Well... I'm scanning that one! >:D :P

7:02 PM
@RPiAwesomeness Weird. It's really really slow for me.

Hmm
The NSA man. They're everywhere :D

@NathanOsman Oh. It must have been misspelled in their vhosts configuration or something. Anyway, it loads now.

user136984
But the person who is hacking me I sort of know, so it's a personal thing, so... :(

user136984
Although, unless they are using another one of their servers, they have taken a break now! :D

user136984
7:04 PM
Or have just mastered the art of being invisible!

[cough] firewall [cough]

@Toroidal A reason more to hack back!
This even gives you the ability to attack on more ways than just blindly through the internet.

user136984
@NathanOsman Firstly, I don't know what the IPs are of the other servers. And secondly it's going through Skype which avoids firewalls. And I have tried blocking the normal IP in firewall settings, but it does nothing. But I have checked and this is not usual Skype activity and with my current configuration this should not be happening, plus the traffic is suspicious and it's actually talking with my machine...

Skype... is... supposed... to talk?

Skype is a whole 'nother beast.

user136984
7:07 PM
With my current configuration it should not be communicating and receiving instructions from a server directly.

Then kill skype and use Tox!

user136984
My machine shouldn't actually be connecting directly at all, it should be connecting through other machines, so the fact that it is a direct connection should not be.

Would be a good decision anyway.

user136984
@ByteCommander What is Tox?

user136984
And is it as secure?

7:08 PM
More secure!

user136984
How do I get it?

Here are binary downloads and repository setup script:

user136984
Thanks! :)

user136984
Also, if I change my username what does that change?

user136984
Because for a month I am thinking about changing it to "ParanoidPanda"! ;D :P

7:13 PM
It's still in beta though...
@Toroidal Username in Tox?
(btw I recommend the qTox client as I am using it myself)
Away for diner. BRB

@ByteCommander I set DuckDuckGo as my primary search engine, but half the reason is that I like its ! commands (like !g, !b, !wa). I only search the web via DuckDuckGo, rather than using it as a convenient redirecting portal to other searches, a little over half the time.

but Google still has better answer IMHO
I use DDG but sometimes I have to use Google to find "better answers"

Yeah I often end up using Google, via DuckDuckGo, with !g. :) The only advantage of this over just searching Google directly is that it's easy for me to type. On some of my systems I mainly use Chromium or Chrome, which makes it easy to search different engines/sites from the search bar (type the first few letters of the site you want and press Tab). But for some reason typing !g seems more natural for me than typing g<Tab>. It's also easy to add ! commands to a previous search.

yeah I know what you mean

user136984
7:38 PM
@ByteCommander No, I mean on AU! ;D :P

@Toroidal Oh. You can do.
@Toroidal See.
I am not ByteCommander any more...
@Toroidal Alive?
@Toroidal... :-/
@Toroidal Btw did you already install qTox?

8:09 PM
He's gone. So I'm morphing back to ByteCommander now...
Oops...
Why is there a limit for one change per month now?
Hey, I want to change back! >:P

8:23 PM
@Seth May I ask you to change my AU name back, please? I did not know of the 30days limit...
I have to log out now for today. Please may some moderator change it back? Thank you!

@SonofaWolf That limit has been in place for years, it's not something new.

@SonofaWolf I will do it this once, but that's just because I'm extra nice ;)
Usually you just have to sit it out.

Lesson #917: never choose a username that you wouldn't want to carry with you for 30 days.

8:38 PM
^^ that

I'm sure @hbdgaf knows that quite well eh? ;P

9:39 PM
Hrm... my build master is down :(
Aha. Permissions problem.
Predictions for naming Ubuntu 15.10, anyone?

Oh, it's totally gonna be Sarcastic Sarlacc
For sure.
Or maybe Stupendous Sarlacc, I think that one works better.

It must start with "W".

Yeah, we've been going in alphabetical order here.

Oh. I did not know that!

9:53 PM
14.04 - Trusty Tahr
14.10 - Utopic Unicorn
15.04 - Vivid Vervet

Wondrous Wombat.

I'm going to guess Whimsical Wallaby.

Not bad.
Yeah, I like Whimsical. Perhaps Whimsical Woodchuck? :D
But yeah, I'd definitely put more money on Whimsical Wallaby than anything else.
Wait! We could do Warty Warthog again! :D

Noooooo!

But in a whimsical, joking manner of course :)
Winsome Wallaroo?

10:00 PM
Let's see if I can find what I had earlier...
Jan 15 '14 at 6:26, by Nathan Osman
More likely Wayward Walrus :P

lol :D

That was over a year ago...

Well, I should get to work designing a Wallaby wallpaper now.
:)
@NathanOsman If Whimsical Wallaby turns out to be it...we might just have to throw an internet party!

10:14 PM
I think it'll be either a Wallaby or a Walrus. But knowing Mark it might be something a bit more exotic. Or it might not.
I started a thread about it on discourse!

Yay, got the new TV computer working 1080 over HDMI!

Cool! :D

And used my last dome sticker ;)

\o\ \o/ /o/

10:29 PM
So this risevision thing is going to be really nice
risevision.com < what I'm now trying out, going to use
Plus I just had the computer set up its own simple file server, so it uses its own pictures ( going around paying for cloud storage) more complicated, but I can at least demo pictures before the pay to make it easy

Sweet @Mateo!
Huh, I keep getting into Spanish layout somehow.. not like I press super+space that often. Weird.

Bet that would make a neat snap app...

10:58 PM
And I haz new wallpaper :)
