you can install ubuntu on some android devices now, however its not an easy task, nor will it ever be. so in theory yes they will be ok with ubuntu on android devices, however it will be better on the phone either way.

If making an automated utility to retrieve information about someone's package management configuration, it would be a good idea to make sure it doesn't report any authentication information (for downloading paid apps, for example). I don't know where that's stored. It's not stored in log files though.
