if it's a one file script, you do know you can embed python in to C/C++ if you link against python.h(if you want to)

Oh no - the Python script needs to go in a special location.

(Or Nautilus won't see it as an extension.)

That's certainly possible - the app exposes many methods with XML RPC.

No, but I could make the Windows version portable with the addition of a couple lines of code.

So, Is there a hackish way to get all the notifications piped to a serial output?

I have no idea.

for example, i can buy beagleboards all day...but they cost twice as much. i'ld rather build for cherry pi, but i can't justify it

I accidentally ripped a bunch of CDs to flac format.

Thankfully flac is lossless, so I can convert them to MP3s easily.
