I get the distinct feeling its going to be a late night....
@GeorgeEdison thank you for turning me on to qtcreator. Its become one of my favorite IDE's. it really just gets out of your way... and i can use it everywhere. I even have a portable install, granted that runs slow as molasses, but it works in a pinch when i'm at school without my laptop.
oh yeah, i tab and ctrl-space most of my code post-prototyping.
I pulled it out today at work hacking away at my project during my lunch hour, and my co-worker got the "oooo aaahhh" effect. He said "that looks much nicer than Vis Studio, why cant VS be this clean?"
my response "This isnt the kitchen sink, its the sharpest knife in the drawer for C++ development"

The reputation graph no longer shows up on my profile when I click on the reputation tab. Is it gone now (like the mail icon)? Or has it been moved somewhere else?
I do like the more detailed summary of reputation earned. Is it possible to still keep some form of graph for easy visualization of...
on the other hand I'll have to invest more energy and time in starting to work on the Ubuntu One Android files/music client and another project I'm planing to get done before next UDS
@Achu I just don't see how just logging into the mysql console would do that, the command mysqldump on the other hand does just that, exporting databases ;)
@Achu like I said I only know that this is the command which is meant to do what you want, I guess looking up the man page of that command or trying to google for an example will definitely help you
Banshee is working on my PC very slow. My pc should have enough power (2x3Ghz, 4GB-Ram, 7GB-Swap, 1GB-Graphics, 32bit Ubuntu) but the switching between playlists is working very low. Additionally if I'm starting a greater job (e.g. importing a dir with >200 files) banshee just freezes.

I think this idea of using Stack Overflow as an official support forum is inside-out : the community has to adopt the project, find it of interest, and talk about it on Stack Overflow.
Pushing to one particular destination from inside the project feels like forcing a fit for the community rather...
that is at least for Stack Overflow, Ask Ubuntu might have another view on it
> The latter of these, due to the developers first attempt at Debian packaging, will kick-up a minor fuss about being ‘badly packaged’ when installed through the Software Centre.
However, that's a bit of a special case - since it's actually an Ubuntu team which @JorgeCastro has been trying to organize support for all the teams to come and monitor their respective tags on AU
@JamesGifford I think notifications are quite easy. I'm still thinking about the best way to record "missed messages". Just implemented a full transcript
@MarcoCeppi none :) I'm using dictionaries (hash–tables), periodically backing them up to a json file. But I have a distributed hash–table somewhere that I can just drop in
@StefanoPalazzo the search window is popping up on startup of gedit so I wonder how the windows can be loaded without it showing then hiding. i'll dpaste the code.
@MarcoCeppi due to how the python dictionary protocol works, I can just drop in any key–value store by subclassing dict and overloading the appropriate operators. I'm implementing stars right now, and I'm seriously thinking of using a database at this point :)
Dear Sirs:
I am currently trying to convert my newly purchased laptop to an OS that is similiar to Windows but without all of the other other headaches associated with it.
I plan on using the laptop for surfing and business purposes only, since I have my Playstation for my gaming purposes.
Can...
I'm running out of space in wubi. Online wubi help didn't help much since they suggest creating extra virtual disk space(similar to having a diffrent partition i guess) . None of them speak about increasing the size of /root disk space(or root.disk). I store all files in space shared with windows...
you could add a comment that you're having the same problem, and then suggest an edit to the question (edit link beneath it) that makes it more clear. That'll bump the question to the front page; maybe someone else knows more
you should also click the star next to the question to add it to your favourites
@JorgeCastro They seem to be oblivious to the fact Ubuntu is an operating system. Not the first time I've seen somebody on Ask Ubuntu that thought Ubuntu is just part of what the site is called. I've wumped an answer down now that should cover that and gently push them in the right direction.
I had installed Ubuntu inside Windows XP but then I formatted XP and installed Windows 7.
EDIT1: I used Wubi for the same.
I want to know which one of the two will solve my problem? creating a virtual disk or resizing root? Also is resizing root possible as the 4GB ext4 partition is already in ...
In any case, you're doing the right things adding a bounty and promoting your question in the chat room.
keep in mind that editing your question puts it on the front page. The more effort you put in the question, the more effort people put in their answers
> One thing the badge doesn’t say, is that there must be at least 200 questions in all 40 of the top tags before this badge is awarded to anyone. ... I don’t feel you can accurately measure a generalist until the top tag list settles down.
That's what it takes. You have to be on almost solidly answering everything you can. And it works better if you sustain the effort over a few days because people still vote for old posts. You end up starting the day with a nice little bonus of ~50-100 points from the overnight votes.
I'm afraid the only solution is to download version 3.6 of Firefox if you really need Elasticfox at least until the developers of that plugin support version 4.0.
Basically, it's my personal system where I often switch from myself to my other myself (one login is for personal purposes, and the other one is the working login). So I come to situation that both myself are logged onto the system because I want to switch between accounts quickly.
