The above conversation clearly shows that I spend too much time on meta. (As somebody said, it can be quite addictive.)
Although in this particular case it was robjohn who found a better link.

Okay. I thought I was adding benefit to some posts. Just to check, what do you mean by "bump" old questions? I have been giving some answers to old unanswered questions because I thought I could answer them. — George 1 hour ago
@George You can learn here what the word bump in the context of SE nework mean. This was not about the answers, I don't think anybody can object to adding new answers. A user in the meta thread I linked complained that some user has bumped several old questions through edits. Should some further discussion be needed, let's move to chat. @George I should add that I did not notice that you have also answered several of the questions you edited.
I hope I did not discourage you too much. Posting answers and improving posts are certainly useful things to do.
But since I saw that thread on meta and I guessed that it the user in question might be you, I thought that I might let you know.
Maybe I guessed wrong. Maybe other users pinged you about the same thing, too.
@George If I might suggest, perhaps we could both remove from the question the comments I have copied to this room. (They are not really related to that question, but I wanted to get your attention on somehow.)
If there is something unclear about the things I wrote, feel free to ask.

Hello Martin. Thanks for your comments. Sorry if that user was me. The last thing I want to do is disrupt other users activities or upset the balance. I will be careful not to do so in future. I will ask if I have any other questions. Yes, can we remove the comments?

I don't think that there is much to be sorry about. It is certainly not a big deal.
I have not noticed that you have also answered many of those questions. (Which, to some extent, invalidates the complaint about bumping old posts.)
I have also made comment on meta, highlighting this:
I will just point out that if an old question has been bumped anyway (by adding a new answer, by Community user, etc.) then the suggested edit certainly did not do any harm. — Martin Sleziak 3 hours ago
