Q: Few comprehension question about TV show "Arrow"

XBagonSo I watched a lot of Arrow lately and had a few problems understanding some things happening. How do Oliver Queen and John Diggle make money, after Oliver lost the company and his money? Why Merlyn wanted to kill Sara? How can Arrow shoot arrows in everyone's body and be sure they don't die? ...

Q: Arrow: Two questions about S03E17

XBagon Palmer litteraly grilled Arsenal and I already thought he's dead, but noone even cares about him and Arrow leaves without him?? Why Deadshot had to die? The coolest character of the whole series had to die? Waiting for the next episode with the Taskforce X just got a lot less exciting.

@NapoleonWilson Sure! I love mini golf. I just suck at regular golf...which was confirmed this afternoon. My brother was getting so annoyed at us because we were just screwing around the whole time quoting Caddyshack and Happy Gilmore. Hehehe :)
@Catija You and Napoleon can play mini golf while Andy and I go camping surrounded by centipedes ;)

Q: How can Kryptonians shoot lasers from their eyes?

HuangismI understand that the earth's yellow sun gives Kryptonian an extra boost but why can they shoot lasers out of their eye? What kind of eye structure will support this kind of energy output and not damage it in the process? Wouldn't the eye beam energy eventually run out if they keep it up?

I mean is it not so generic and look too SFF

@NVZ hi

NVZ
@AnkitSharma Hello

So what's going on
Curious to know what is NVZ stand for
A nitrate vulnerable zone is a conservation designation of the Environment Agency for areas of land that drain into nitrate polluted waters, or waters which could become polluted by nitrates. Nitrate vulnerable zones were introduced by the UK government in response to the EU mandate that all EU countries must reduce the nitrate in drinking water to a maximum of 50 mg/l. The NVZs covered large areas of land that had been identified as exceeding or being at risk of exceeding 50 mg NO3/l. NVZs have fairly relaxed rules on fertiliser application involving not fertilising at certain times of the year...

Q: How to get TV shows back on the air?

tjt263What can we do (as television watching fans and enthusiasts), to get cancelled shows back in production and back on TV? I really miss Fringe, for instance, and I know others do too. Surely there must be something that we can do to get more episodes when our favourite shows get cancelled.

Q: Scope of X-Men tag and its usage? Is it really suitable for being a franchise tag?

Ankit SharmaWe have an x-men tag with the tag wiki A film series of superhero films based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. Have you heard this zemo mission report jokes?

@AnkitSharma Um, why did you add back into those questions? I thought the goal was for the tag to vanish? Otherwise it will continue to be used wrongly.

@NapoleonWilson Those question need something like that , i was trying to correct it's usage not delete it
I don't mind if someone even delete it

9:27 AM
@DrRDizzle No. Is there even one?

@DrRDizzle No. Is there even one?

9:40 AM
Wikipeida and IMDB says yes
seems not much useful
Maybe because i never liked the film on first place

I liked it much more than that Origins thing.

Ohh please everything is better then that shit
Origins and last stand was complete garbage
Why Luke Evans is playing Gaston in Beauty and the beast :/
I hate when the actor i like get the worse role possible

10:03 AM
@NapoleonWilson Yeah, I think it's called the Unleashed Edition or something. It's R rated, more violent, more sweary etc.
I was wondering if it was worth watching, but I guess nobody knows.

@DrRDizzle Unleashed Extended Edition"
IMDb link mention above, have all the extra scenes details

@AnkitSharma I'm tempted to get it on Blu

10:21 AM
I fell asleep while watching it and never tried again
Just viewed the summary on Wikipedia

It's a good film, probably the second best X-film.

@DrRDizzle hmmm

Currently Game of Thrones, Person of Interest and Agents of SHIELD. Disregarding any stuff that I have to start watching someday or start new seasons of.

I am still struggling to complete daredevil S02

10:38 AM
I'm struggling to start it.

completed half i think

But since I have also started reading a book I don't even have so much time anymore. Those stupid things are serious time eaters. But then again, I'm also currently on a break in Minecraft currently.

I plan on picking up Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl again soon.
Oh, and I'm watching a Netflix show called Love too.

I have time to catch Supergirl, i just want to complete it before arrowverse's next seasons. Lucifer, daredevil s02 is on more priority
@NapoleonWilson which book

Sure, I'm waiting for the 4th season of Arrow, definitely. But I largely got out of The Flash and only ever watched a single episode of Supergirl, not to speak of Legends of Tomorrow.
The Lady of the Lake (Polish original title: Pani Jeziora) is the fifth novel in the Witcher Saga written by Polish fantasy writer Andrzej Sapkowski, first published in Poland in 1999. It is a sequel to the fourth Witcher novel The Swallow's Tower (Wieża Jaskółki). == Plot summary == The story opens with Ciri bathing in a pond in an unknown world. As she does so, Sir Galahad of the Arthurian legend stumbles upon her. After mistaking her for the Lady of the Lake, they then talk and Ciri recounts her story. The story cuts to a point in time that takes place after the story, where a young maiden,...

As per news, next season will broadcast like

sueprgirl - monday
flash - Tuesday
arrow- wednesday
LoT- friday
But i though Friday are bad days for show and they still placed there worst biggest show on Friday :O

I also have to watch new seasons of Ripper Street and Penny Dreadful some day.

@NapoleonWilson hmmmm, sound nice
@NapoleonWilson I am considering Penny Dreadful but not sure yet.

@AnkitSharma It is. I read the short story collections many years ago and the rest of the novel series about 2 years ago. But a recent discussion in some other chatroom (and the answer it encouraged me to write over there) motivated me to finally complete the series and maybe also read the new standalone novel that was only translated recently into German.

I've been meaning to watch Penny Dreadful for some time now. It looks right up my alley.

@DrRDizzle I liked the 1st season very much. But of course I feel entirely incapable to make any deductions about you liking it therefrom.
It certainly has a healthy portion of Victorian gothic romance in it. And Eva Green and Timothy Dalton on top of that.

11:00 AM
@NapoleonWilson Bond lady and Bond in one show. Very cool.
Which has just made me realise that Shaun of the Dead is the only film in the Cornetto trilogy without a Bond in it.

Eva Green is stopping me to watch it but i might consider it after completing my major backlog
@NapoleonWilson I can't read novels. Tried only once maybe later some day

@DrRDizzle Who was in The World's End?

@NapoleonWilson Pierce Brosnan.

@DrRDizzle One might even argue, the best from each category even.

11:15 AM
@NapoleonWilson Daniel Craig is probably my favourite Bond, but I can also count the amount of Bond films I've actually seen on one hand, so...

Q: Did dialogue about Krishna got altered in X-Men: Apocalypse?

Ankit SharmaIn X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, there was dialogue said by Apocalypse I've been called many things in many lifetimes- Ra, Krishna, Yahweh." But in theater I was not able to track any such dialogue mentioning Krishna. Does this got altered in the final film?...

"recent controversy"? oh god, what's the internet again offended by NOW?

huh?

@MovieReel quote from this

@AnkitSharma I'm pretty sure I heard Krishna in the dialogue in the US, BTW. Maybe it was edited for you guys?

oh jeez.... of course

hahahahhaha

again, religion takes itself way too serious

11:31 AM
I remember noting that one of the names of a God was missing from the UK version, but I can't remember which one.

@FlorianPeschka religion = drama, nothing new

yeah, figures
one day, religion will kill us all. i fear for our children

@FlorianPeschka If we made it this far with religion, I'm sure it will be less of an issue in a time where people are abandoning it in their hundreds of thousands.

@FlorianPeschka don't worry, our generation is bit better
@DrRDizzle I did noticed it and napolean too

Well, I've answered the Q.

huh.

@DrRDizzle Mine probably, too. But Dalton was still great and very underrated.

so, as usual, it's perfectly fine to insult the Jews, but god forbid we insult hindus or muslims?

lol just what i was about to write

11:41 AM
it's fiction. You'll be ok.

@KutuluMike I didn't hear Krishna in tge movie either, only in the trailer.

@KutuluMike ... what?

there were definitely three names though. I may go see it again, not sure, but if I so I'll pay attention better.
@DrRDizzle The Hindus were glad that they edited out Krishna from the movie, thus showing "maturity and responsibility, and understanding the feelings of Hindu community.". But leaving in Yahweh was no big deal.

@DrRDizzle So they just removed Krishna reference i thought it was changed to Shiva which might have been more dumb step

@KutuluMike I'm sure that they would have removed that too if there was a controversy, but if there was I didn't hear about it.

11:43 AM
@KutuluMike Maybe because the jews themselves couldn't care less.

@DrRDizzle of course there wasn't controversy. Insulting the Jewish god insn't controversial.
The Jewish people don't give a crap if some fictional movie name-drops their deity.

@AnkitSharma At least it wasn't dubstep. ;-)

@KutuluMike And to be fair, the film was written by Simon Kinberg, a Jewish person.

Even being Hindu i don't feel offensive by it.
I only got offended by Supernatural but that cases was too much extreme

there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to feel offended by any of it.
it specifically does not take place in the real world.

11:49 AM
@KutuluMike Obviously it's wrong at every level. If you have issue with your gods reference then you should have courtesy to respect other religion's gods too.
@NapoleonWilson lol
@DrRDizzle +1 for now ;)

Q: Is Swastika really treated as offensive even when it's used for religious purpose in Profile pictures or chat?

Ankit SharmaI have heard many controversy regarding the use of swastika in stackexchnage network. But all the cases i notice were clearly using nazi swastika. To make it clear swastika are of different kinds: Hindu swastika Jain Prateek Chihna (Jainism Symbol) The Hachisuka swastika, a family crest us...

May sound controversial but i think i have point

i guess the problem is that not many people (a) know that the symbol was there way before the nazis "took it" and (b) even when they know, you can never be entierly sure that the one using it is doing so for the one or the other purpose. maybe they want to show their "nazi support" and hide it behind a "normal" swastika?
just like, in germany, many right wing extremists use "88", "HH" as disguised nazi support symbols

Out of 2 from top 4 religions use swastika symbol.
Nazi issue is not ever existed in many countries
And SE is global

yes, but it is primarly influenced by western culture and ideologies

SE have Hinduism.se and Buddhism.se too, do tehy ahve to follow western ideology too

thats for their site mods to decide, i gues... in judaism.se i believe even the "normal" form of a swastika might be considered offensive by some, given their history
but ultimately, i am all for freedom of expression, and banning symbols just because it might offend some people is (imho) a bad thing in and of itself

12:47 PM
I am Hinduism.se moderator and i am obviously not going to remove it until it's nazi swastika and i am fully capable of differentiating them

I'm sorry, but the swastika is not something you should use as your DP. Like small mustache's, the Nazi's ruined it completely, regardless of other meanings it may have.

@DrRDizzle that is true for most of western culture, but look further east and you will find hundreds of thousans of people who never even heard of nazi or hitler
2
and NOT for lack of education, but for mere "non relevance" for their history

Dude, the Nazi's were behind World War II. It was a global war, everyone had a stake in it.

@DrRDizzle Did Hitler affected every nation?
India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were having the issue of Britishers during that time
not nazi

@DrRDizzle Uh, no.

12:52 PM
I know, and yet you find things like this: vice.com/read/nazis-chic-is-asias-offensive-fashion-craze-456

"There were eight countries that declared neutrality; Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, The Vatican, Andorra, Ireland and Liechtenstein. However, all of these countries were still involved in small ways."
Nearly every country in the world participated in World War II, with the exception of a few states that remained neutral. The Second World War pitted two alliances against each other, the Axis powers and the Allied powers. The leading Axis powers were Nazi Germany, the Kingdom of Italy and the Empire of Japan; while the United Kingdom, the United States, the Soviet Union and China were the "Big Four" Allied powers. Even though the Axis had the support of a handful of minor allies and client states, by 1945 almost every single country in the world had declared war on them, although many of them...

plus hundreds of countries that were to insignificant to be involved at all

user35333I saw Good Will Hunting (1997) movie, It got well ratings in IDMB. It also got good grossing even with Rated R rating also. "Even though the Axis had the support of a handful of minor allies and client states, by 1945 almost every single country in the world had declared war on them, although many of them did so only at the eleventh hour."
The phrase "World War" isn't just for fun.

the mere declaration of war does not mean those countries citizens understand or care about the horrors the nazis did, or associate their symbolism with said actions

12:57 PM
@DrRDizzle so?
That doesn't make me hate swastika
15 mins ago, by Ankit Sharma
Out of 2 from top 4 religions use swastika symbol.
Christianity 32%
Islam 23%
Hinduism 15%
Buddhism 7%
Hinduism and Buddhism have religious significance for swastika
Even nazi took the symbol inspiration from them
Are we going to ban christian cross sigh if some terrorist organisation use it for their symbol?

@NapoleonWilson so, all three tagging agendas are complete.
I need to find new one soon ;D

@AnkitSharma Meh, almost. I'm still not sure what to do with . But I guess we can leave that for now.

@NapoleonWilson We can keep an eye on it, if it ever got miss used again.

If we had a , which meta seems to want, we wouldn't need it on one of the questions. The other one could get instead and the third one doesn't need any additional tags.

Hmm, fair point
But if we want , then it means few old one also need to retag

Sure. I'm currently gathering a list and writing a meta answer for that.

Q: Shouldn't we move on SciFi stackexchange question that are related to comics characters and have nothing to do with the movie?

mattiav27There are a lot of question on this site like the following: Does Deadpool age? Can Deadpool's looks still be restored? Why is Deadpool named Deadpool? Why don't Wolverine's claws grow back with Adamantium? Why are they considered on topic? I think they should be asked on https://scifi.stack...

@MetaReel not at all

2:39 PM
If those questions were specifically asking about the comics, then I would say yes, but they aren't.

We had a few that really scratched on-topicness, though, and that had to be rephrased after noone took any initiative in either close-voting or rephrasing.
Like the recent Deadpool question.

the one about how he got his name?

Yes.
And some other ones that are already fixed.

ah.
well, to me the deciding factor should be "is the right answer going to require content from the comics?"
if so I'd favor migrating vs. fixing it
it annoys me when I see an M&TV answer full of comic image scans
I had someone yell at me once for answering a Game of Thrones question with a quote from the book... and they were probably right.

@AnkitSharma If that terrorist organisation committed a genocide while taking over half the world in a war that cost around 60 million people their lives in just 6 years - yes, maybe.

Two of my all-time non-favourites about movie-ignoring/contradicting answers:
6
A: Why didn't Jor-el and Lara leave Krypton with their son?

kicker86There have been several reasons stated in the various eras of Superman - The classic version However, as time ran short, Jor-El soon found that he would only have enough time to build a spacecraft to save his son Kal-El. He decided to send Kal-El to Earth, realizing he would gain superhuman ...

A: What nationality is Bane?

PriestVallonAn article written by NBC has the following quote. DC Comics describes Bane’s father as a British mercenary and his mother a rebel from the Caribbean. His life spent in a jail on the fictional Caribbean Island of Santa Prisca, a seemingly Spanish name. So basically Bane is half British, hal...

The second one hurts especially since it completely contradicts the movies and even says so in the article referenced but is a self-acceptance.
There is, however, definitely room for well-reasoned answers including book material to either complement a movie answer or make up for a (clearly stated) lack thereof. There are some really good Game of Thrones answers using the books but still making the curve to the series somehow.
@KutuluMike Well, noone close-voted and they were fixable to make them on-topic. In this case (as in every case actually) I would prefer them to stay open and on-topic rather than off-topic and closed.

Q: True Detective (TV series): Why does Reggie Ledoux and Errol call Rust "little priest"

Anastasio90In the behind-the-scenes feature for Episode #5, Ledoux is seen telling Rust that he's "a priest too." Then, when Rust is walking through the catacombs in Episode #8, Errol refers to him as "little priest." What was the meaning behind this?

3:36 PM
@MetaReel The problem is that most, if not all of those answers, are utterly based on the comics...

i agree.
which isn't too bad, now... but the movies could decide to do something totally different, and those answers would "become" wrong.

Yeah.

@DrRDizzle I will not. It's like symbol of faith, hope, empowerment and somendumb people can't steal it from me or chnage it's meaning
It's like if a non canon fan made comics make batman a terrorist and now I should hate him now because 1k people loved that shitty fan made stuff......no way

3:57 PM
Super glad that question about Krishna is going to turn into a huge """censorship""" circlejerk.
@AnkitSharma All I'm saying is that the symbol might mean one thing to you, but it means a very, very different thing to a lot more people.

@AnkitSharma I tend to generally agree with you in principle, but comparing 1,000 people enjoying a fan-made comic to the mass murder of millions of people is pretty idiotic.

@DrRDizzle Feel free to flag any comments that don't contribute to the question/answer accordingly.

@DrRDizzle and my point is if u want to go global then younshould respect both prespective. Else don't pretend to be global at all.
@KutuluMike I gave example of Christianity first but he completely rejected it so I vhbaged the genre of example.
Grrrrr......can't correct spells from mobile
To me its my freedom of speech to use a religious symbol as my profile picture and some so called asshole group of nazi agenda can't make my intention wrong
And even when both symbol are completely different

your freedom of speech stops the minute you use a privately owned communication system to speak.
at that point it becomes "my freedom to speak however they allow me, or else go somewhere else and speak"
not to mention, there are plenty of countries where your freedom of speech is explicitly curtailed when it comes to controversial topics, like Naziism.
Depending on local laws, SE may even be legally liable for allowing people to say things or display images that the national government deems offensive
imagine if (hypothetically, I think) SE had to unilaterally block everyone from Germany from using their service so you could put a swastika in your profile picture.
how is that fair to anyone?

4:12 PM
Stack excahnge is a QA site and should stick with it only. It have nothing to interfere with some persons rrligious belief just because it have diffrent meaning in diffrent part ofnthe country
@DrRDizzle It's quite normal for HNQ. Random voting, weird comments etc. If something really bothering you then flag that comment accordingly
@KutuluMike nothing is fair in the world. But to me SE is a global site spreading it's feet in more and more topics day by day and it should respect global point of view. Its too easy to differentiate between Nazi and non Nazi swastika and nobody need to go that offended this easily.
Just do case by case and that is my point of whole meta post
Do=go

if it were that easy to distinguish between them then people wouldn't get offended by the wrong one.
obviously, it is not that easy.

It is that easy. I presented both symbol in post

it's easy for you because you know what to look for. that's a horrible way to judge.

Hindu swastika is plus sign then every corner go to respective direction
With four dots in all four boxes
Nazi symbol don't have dots and it's tilted version of original symbol

SQB
And "turning" the other way, right?

4:25 PM
no, that's the native american one, I think.

SQB
Or can the Hindu version turn both ways?

Both way means ?
You mean mirrored version of hindu swastika?

there are variations of the swastika where the arms point counter-clockwise instead of clockwise

@KutuluMike Yes. Actually. My understanding is that the symbols meant "male" and "female"... the one used by the Reich is the "male" version.
> from The Secret Language of Symbols: Swastika, this widespread symbol is particularly revered by the Jains, the Buddhists and followers of Vishnu. It is essentially a cross spinning at its centre, with the angles at the end of each arm representing light streaming as the cross turns. Spinning clockwise, it symbolizes male energy; anticlockwise, female.

Yeah I have seen mirrored image swastika too but few consider it and few things it wrong

4:34 PM
Technically, the Japanese symbol in Ankit's question is in reverse.

But only 45 degree titled one without the dots is the nazi symbol. Rest are mostly hindu, Buddhist, jain or maybe sometime Japanese symbol

@Catija I think the symbol has meant a ton of different things to a ton of different cultures.
I always assumed it symbolized the sun, either way.
lots of old pottery uses both symbols because the symmetry looks cool

@Catija there any many meaningbof it and it very from sect to sect. In my religion only clockwise is cosiderrd holly. But I do agree, there can be other representation
I mean in my sect

There's an old Jewish synagogue (that's now a gay bar) in San Antonio that has them running all along the outside of the building in masonry....
4

@KutuluMike it can represent sun, 4 directions , sometime ganesha etc etc

4:40 PM
@Catija Starred for utter weirdness.

Q: What is the significance of the swastika?

kBislaThe swastika symbol is used in many ceremonies, yagya etc. What is its significance? Also, what is the correct direction for the swastika? This or it's mirror image?

BrianIn the early years of Conan O'Brien's NBC show (1995 or 1996), he would have a Chinese stand-up comedian perform for a few minutes in Chinese, with English subtitles. It was a man with short hair, five-o'clock shadow (or maybe a goatee), wearing a black suit. His act essentially consisted of insu...

@NapoleonWilson I keep parsing that as "drug users" 😃

@SQB Or that. Might be an explanation sometimes.

@NapoleonWilson hey, I gotta go, but I think I speak for the entire room and probably for all of Mos Eisely as well when I tell you to wish @steelerfan the best when you call her.
Perhaps a small sitrep if the situation permits.

@SQB What is a "sitrep"?

Q: Movie where Artificial Intelligence network tries to take over the world

Harshith MThere was this movie/short film I watched some years ago about an Artificial Intelligence network trying to take over the world. In the movie the AI has control over everything viz, a missile launch facility. It also fakes calls. It tries to destroy a city by taking control of a train containing ...

@NapoleonWilson Alright. I'm at my mom's. I really don't think I can stay awake until 1pm, so I am hoping that you get this and call me.

SQB
@steelerfan see above. We all wish you the best.
I hope you are or will be alright.

Gheez, I didn't mean to freak everyone out...I'm sorry. Nobody died or anything. I'm just really tired. No worries. I am still alive ;)

6:52 PM
Okay, good to hear. Yeah, you sounded like your house had just burned down.
I hope that's not the case.
Take care, everybody, I'm out.

@steelerfan would it help to watch a 12 WWE Divas try badly to have a wrestling match?

I am extremely doped up right now, I can't realy see strait...no more typing. My house didnt burn down.
@KutuluMike maybe...

@steelerfan And you were driving?

> Announcer #1: She looks just like my 4th wife.
> Announcer #2: Wait, how many wives had you had?
> Announcer #1: Three.

I was driving my 4wheeler. Bad wreck. Just got back from hospital all night. Ugh.

6:55 PM
sigh... can guys ever not be sexist?

@Catija who, me, or the announcers? :)

Anyways, I am too out of it right now. I gotta go.

@KutuluMike Announcers.

oh.
well, he's the "heel" announcer, being a sexist pig is part of his gimmick.

@steelerfan You got in a wreck on the 4-Wheeler? That's not nothing... :(
@KutuluMike Ah, I guess... Still not a fan... do they have female announcers who do that to the male wrestlers?

6:57 PM
on occasion.
most of the women are neutral -- interviewers, not color.
but they did have a female NXT announcer who would comment on the men's abs and glutes

@Catija 3 broken ribs, cracked pelvis, dislocated shoulder, concussion, 30 stitches...i am wiped out.

@steelerfan OMG. WTF? That's horrible. Are you going to stay with your sister for a while then? Someone's got to take care of you.

@Catija I'm at my moms. It's easier over here. I'll be alright, I bounce back easily. Anyways, Im really tired...I will talk to you gys later ;)

REST!!!
Sleep. Take drugs... the doctor-y kind... not the street ones...

7:14 PM
@steelerfan Ok, will do.
@steelerfan WUUUT?

@NapoleonWilson EXACTLY!!!! Thank god her house didn't burn down but she's practically dead and it's no big deal???

7:43 PM
@Catija It's all fine now, though. She's already recovering and resting, again.

@NapoleonWilson That's still a lot of broken bones. I'm glad you were able to speak with her, though.

Of course! Fortunately, she seems to take it the easiest, though. ;-)

You should give Mos an update.

Hmm, apparently I was pinged there some time ago.

They're worried about her... and they're talking about the possible severity of her injuries.

7:50 PM
I can't give any more info than what she's written herself here already, though. She's fine by now and recovering at her mom's. And it should all be healed in like 4 to 6 weeks.

I'm sure that just knowing that will be nice. They were trying to ascertain how long she'd be out due to the injuries.

Ok, done.

YAY! Thanks. She was so happy yesterday with her plans to go out camping... and I'm so sorry that it was spoiled... but it's really great that she was able to get help rather than being stuck in the middle of nowhere, hurt.

Oh god, indeed! If it was farther out she might not even have made it. From what she told me it sounded horrible and her father was surprised she even got out under that thing.

Did she have cell service to call for help? I'm guessing she rolled it over?

8:03 PM
Since she was at home she didn't have cell service. She dragged herself into the house alone. Yes, it landed on her somehow and actually stabbed her partly. The accident really sounds way more awful than a doped up steelerfan laying calmly in her bed is giving the impression of.
I think we should be glad she even survived. Oh god!

Wow, that sounds awful. :( I'm really glad to hear that she was able to get out of it.
I'm sure that when the meds wear off you'll get a more colorful story.

Well, I think she'll continue to take it easy, and I'm also glad for that. She seems to be fine for now and that's very good.

Sounds like she should be back on her feet in time for your trip, though... Hopefully she's able to make a full recovery.

I think being imprisoned in a bedroom (again!) is the worst thing for her now.

You should send her stuff. I would but I don't want to pry her mom's address out of her if she doesn't want to share it.

8:07 PM
@Catija She is optimistic on that. And I'd be inclined to trust her medical education there.

Q: Can a warg control dragons?

TomInthis question it is asked if the white walkers can reanimate dragons and control them. The answer postulates that dragons might burn up upon death. It also posits that dragons are, in fact, animals. This got me to wondering if wargs are able to control dragons. Since Bran is a warg, and a pow...

As long as noone wants to take a friggin' camping trip right after recovering again she should be fine. ;-)

And hopefully she won't be back on that 4-wheeler any time soon.

@Catija Hmm, I don't actually know her adress, though.

@NapoleonWilson You could ask her...

8:09 PM
Hmm, indeed...

Q: From what movie, tv show or video game does the depicted series of symbols originate?

BefuddledIt looks like the language of the predator, from the movie of the same name, but it isn't. Need help from the collective internet genius.

My spoiler-free review of Warcraft: The Beginning, for anyone who wants to read it.

Just saw the pinned message on Mos Eisley. Is @steelerfan OK, @NapoleonWilson?

Didn't realise she'd posted here.
That sounds bad.
I hope you get well ASAP @steelerfan! Also, you sounds like a badass now.
@steelerfan for the next James Bond :P

pretty sure james bond never rolled an ATV :|

But if he really wants answers from the books, he should be asking on SFF....

Meh, he's still asking for background on a movie character.
That being said, while the suggestion isn't that inappropriate, I'd prefer we not suggest plain reasking, as that is bound to lead to trouble. If anything he can flag it for migration if he desires so.

@NapoleonWilson I'm talking about his comment... which specifically references wanting book related answers.
I didn't tell him to ask it on SFF... That wasn't my intent.

@Catija Then I must have misread the comment.

Probably not. Rereading it, it's ambiguous.
And WTF is that Zootopia question?

Yeah, the times where you wish "unclear what you're asking" was still the good old "not a real question".

Q: The meaning of Zootopia

gsamaras R u gonna settle or try everything? ;) Did I got it right or not? What do you feel? The "dumb bunny" has the opportunity to stay low, to stay safe in the farm of her parents, but instead she chooses to risk everything and follow her dream!

Now that is an upvote that's not suspicious in the slightest.

Who would upvote that crap?

Oh seriously? Have the friggin' courtesy to turn it into an actual question before reopen-voting!

As far as I'm concerned, it's a "This is what I think, am I right" question... which isn't really a valid type of question... it's just looking for validation.

10:55 PM
Seriously... why do people blame the mods for shit they didn't do.
@Catija I'm asking about the show. Sometimes the book fleshes things out that are only glossed over in the show. And sometimes I just missed something in the show. ...and sometimes the correct answer is, "we don't know." Somebody had a pretty well written answer on here but I guess a mod nixed it because I'm only seeing one answer now — Tom 10 mins ago
so my question got stopped because the moderators didn't understand it? Great stuff. If you don't understand, why stop my question from reaching people that do? — Mark 18 mins ago

11:10 PM
Because users. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Catija as far as low-rep users are concerned, anyone with the power to close a question counts as a mod.

11:25 PM
@KutuluMike Then his argument is even more stupid. If we let every crappy question exist, this site would be uninhabitable.

that's true. his argument is silly in general.
but his use of 'mod' is understandable given that, on most forums, regular users can't do the things that high-rep users can do

I suppose.

11:46 PM
@KutuluMike So... you don't have to explain and don't take this as a complaint at all... but... didn't you used to hang out in Mos rather than here? Did something happen in that community I'm not aware of?

Yes, and sortof.
I can't really say what you are/aren't aware of :)

You can assume that I'm not aware of anything unless it had something to do with the mod election and then I'd be only half-aware of it.

then you would probably be ~1/10th aware of this.
I don't want to go into it because somehow people will take it out of context and get their panties in a twist and come here and/or Agents of Nothing to yell at me.

Fair enough. I have to head home anyway. Wouldn't want you to get "in trouble".

doesn't bother me, I am quick on the /ignore, but it disrupts the other chat rooms

11:55 PM
Well, regardless, I'm glad you found a new place to hang out. :D

hey now. i was hanging out in here a lot before.

Then maybe I'm mentally misattributing some of your time here to time in Mos.
