Q: Alien/human love scene.. Movie title?

Prodigy123I randomly remebered a couple scenes from a film that I believe, was released in the early 2000's and involved a murderous womanlike-alien being, that used some kind of swords or blades to kill people. The film was set on like a farm or ranch, that had lots of cows and sheep which i remember th...

Q: Movie ID: Mad max styled sci fi where rowed identical men touch shiny object and disappear

DanielI remember watching this as a kid must be from the 80's Well I remember a desert scene, there was a kind of camp. I have the feeling it was kind of post apocalyptical (like mad max) of some sort. There was a row of identical men which where kind of stupid/ignorant and touched (i believe) a shiny...

Q: Something about a girl and an alien in her backpack in an animated maze

Ben HudsonIn the first episode 2 boys watch a girl with a backpack go into a virtual world like a maze and they follow her in and there are guys that want them dead (I think) and the virtual world is a lot like a game with power ups but I think if you die there you die in real life. The boys end up joining...

Q: Movies and television shows that reference the future decades ahead of time?

ychirea1I am interested in identifying speculative films that realistically embed futuristic technologies into their present-day scenarios, but some thirty-forty years ahead of time. I am thinking of things like commercial airline space flight or the HAL 9000 AI computer in Kubrick's 1968 film 2001, or e...

Q: Disney film with animation and live action, Mickey disappearing

George TI remember this from when I was about 5 years old, which would mean it happened in 1990-91, so I'm not sure I remember it correctly. The film could have been much older than that. I'm quite certain it was a video tape I (or, well, my parents) had rented. I used to think it was Fantasia but other...

Q: Identifying a Disney special, or film

Canti12It's been quite a long time, but I remember seeing a Disney production on TV. I think it was in black and white, but I'm not entirely sure anymore. All I distinctly remember is Jiminy Cricket and Daisy Duck being present in an actual, real life backdrop. In other words, they were animated and jus...

Q: How did Ant-Man manage to get big again?

Tom CodyDuring his training as the Ant-Man we can see Scott working on the electronics of his suit, specifically some kind of regulator, much to Hank's dismay, and a dialogue similar to the follwoing ensues: Scott: You know, I think that regulator is holding me back. Hank: Hands off that regulator....

@ychirea1 Doesn't every movie set in the future present its technology as comment and everyday technology, though? I haven't yet found a movie set in the future that has its people be continuously astounded about the amazing world they're living in.

I want to think about films that do this well, or at least in ways that seem to take for granted the "coolness" of the technology. I recently watched Spielberg's Minority Report, for example. The advertisements that were customized to the individual's retina, and so forth. The video editor that Deckard uses to zoom in on the pixels in Blade Runner. Stuff like that. Perhaps there are plenty of films that have bits like this, but I just don't know about them.

Q: Whiskey in US movies out of plain glass decanters. A movie or culture thing?

P.R.I am not sure where this questions would fit. So I am trying it here. I noticed since some time that whiskey offered in offices of bosses in US movies or series often tend to be poured from anonymous glass bottles/decanters. I saw this often happen in House of Cards for example. I remember Frank...
