Q: Help identifying procedural drama tv show from early to mid 2000s

MacThe lead actress was blonde. They were all cops, or fbi, or some sort of law enforcement division. I think another guy on the team played a minor role in one of the Matrix movies. I think it aired on FOX, but it may have been on a different network or cable show. It would have ran sometime be...

Q: Girl Becomes physically disabled and learns to run again

Sarah HartmanI'm hoping to get some help identifying a movie, for which I don't remember a lot of the premise / plot. What I do know is that it's about a girl who gets in an accident and becomes physically / mentally disabled. Before the accident she was a runner, and so what I know of the movie is that she ...

Q: Girl high dives with horse and goes blind

DForck42There was an american movie that came out in early to mid 90's about a girl who would ride a horse while it jumped off a high dive into water. This was a show that people would pay to watch, maybe like a circus performance sort of thing. During a dive she didn't close her eyes and she goes bl...

BryanI'm 19 now and i saw this movie when I was 6-10 years old on DVD. It was about a little boy, similar looking to the boy from the sixth sense. I think they moved into a new house. Q: How Tom Cruise Did That Insane Plane Stunt For Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

BugfixerHow is it possible because plane travels travel at the speed more than 750 miles per hour.He is just hanging with his hand in the holes. How this stunt was performed ?

@NapoleonWilson, I'm talking about citations from the story teller himself. Or at least some kind of authoritative source. Not just from a viewer guessing what the storyteller is thinking. I mean isn't that the whole point of SE network? I mean just compare the answers here with the answers at scifi.SE. At this rate, we're getting better answers at Quora: Mad Max Fury Road (2015 movie) than on movies.SE — Pacerier 34 mins ago
Wut?
It baffles me that for some people a well-reasoned analysis answer based on the actual movie is equal to a big pile of completely opinionated crap.

Q: Who was cast for the role of Bill Gates?

chaitanya89Watching the new trailer of Steve Jobs (2015) , I was wondering who played Bill gates. As IMDb plot says, the movie Follows the life and legacy of Steve Jobs. @NapoleonWilson Comment discussion really pissing me off.

@Catija Oh, you mean the "unsubscribe" thing? Yeah, I "solved" it.

3:48 PM
@NapoleonWilson Ah, thanks. I just couldn't understand why so many people were so set on a stupid word that can mean different things to different people on a site that should be clear and easy to use.

More baffling was that this actually caused so many comments at all. But yeah, I didn't personally like the arguments that said "the users can just google it" or even better "since the site is in English everybody should watch those things in English original anyway". The simple fact is just, changing this thing doesn't hurt in the slightest way, so why not given that already 3 users don't understand it.

Oh, were there more comments? When I went to bed, it was just me arguing with four people about it.

Well, yours was the last one, 12 as a whole. But that is already far more than the significance of the matter deserved anyway.

Hm. Well, I can certainly say that all of the arguments, as you mentioned, were completely ridiculous. I was half-way to pointing out that two of our three mods aren't from English-speaking countries.
... Though I have always been impressed with your English fluency @NapoleonWilson .... Particularly after spending so much time on ELL. Though I do know many Europeans with very good English, so I guess it's really just disappointment in the US's lack of non-English education.

4:23 PM
@Catija Thank you. Well, without too much boasting (hopefully), I also have to say that I am a bit proud in my English skills (at least in written form) and enjoy every chance to use them. It's just that the majority of stuff I read and write all day is English and it has always felt just like a second native tongue to me.
But I also admit that hearing and speaking skills are a little worse, primarily because of lack of practice, I guess. But at least I tend to watch more English stuff nowadays.
But well, in the academic world you don't really survive without at least good English reading skills (and a great deal of writing skills). Which of course adds to the fact that non-English are more likely to master English than the other way around (or at least English education plays a bigger role in school, if it does). If you don't need to use German every day or in a large part of your professional life, you're much less likely to excel at it.
That being said I know practically nothing from my Spanish lessons in school anymore, much less the French from primary school (and not to speak of Latin, which already was a closed book to me during school).

Q: 80s (possibly) female alien shape shift

James ParkerCan't remember much of this movie other than the alien was a female and I think she could change her looks by using a ring or something. In the end I remember she turned into some giant monster (from Jupiter I think) and eats the bad guy/alien. I'm fairly certain I saw it on demand back when I h...

Q: How Cypher connected into The Matrix to talk to Agent Smith without an operator?

athosbr99In The Matrix films, when someone wants to connect into the Matrix, it requires three things: To find somewhere to link in the real work (they can't just connect from anywhere, they must find someplace to connect the ship) An Operator to guide those who are connected (every time someone wanted ...

Q: Trying to remember the name of an obscure Uk tv one off sci fi time travel film

Dan RowbottomI'm trying to remember the name of a one off tv programme. It might have been two parts. I think it was on late night, channel 4, perhaps 10 years ago. It was sci fi, time travel. Very strange, quite scary, for me anyway. I seem to remember it being largely set in a bedroom, something about a b...

29193I remember watching a documentary about 10 years ago in a culture anthropology course where a man gets rope around a tree and then starts climbing it (huge, like as tall as Sequoia) and as he's climbing he has a little axe where he chops a little area for his feet to stay and then moves up a bit....

Q: The 100 - Relationship to/with Battlestar Galactica?

ghostdogSo I recently(ish) watched the first season of The 100 on Netflix and couldn't help but notice the similarities it had to Battlestar Galactica (specifically Ronald D. Moore's remake). This is both in terms of actors - goodness knows, The 100 has had plenty of actors from both BSG and Caprica - an...
