What the fuck? The site's broken!

it's been going up and down
or broken in another way?

@Flyk Meh, isn't great, I guess.

Would mythology as far as we're concerned not be "plot-explanation" ?

The site doesn't load and ends in some "bad gateway error". Other SEs work, though.

12:07 AM
I had a few of those earlier
it's still working for me

@Flyk Uh, no. Why would it? It's more along the lines of , I'd say.
Hmm, good again, who knows.

because the mythology in the context of a movie would be a story element and story questions come under plot-explanation?

Oh, look. Ah, I see 2 am = 0 UTC = Flyk got new votes.

10am -.-

Drgh, and I thought I could just enjoy another episode Agent Carter. ;-(

12:10 AM
well you do that and I'll go and slowly toast
saying that I probably have more chance of skin cancer than tanning sufficiently
now I'm getting the bad gateway error
it's a sign!

Meanwhile I might kill the other three s.

well that first one definitely didn't deserve it
anyway, back in a bit
enjoy retagging or agent carter
or whatever you end up doing

One is already finished. So if you're going to lie in the sun without internet, then it's gonna be Agent Carter followed by sleep. Bye.

in the sun, no internet, maybe some ice cream
saying that it's hardly "hot" today, so it could be a short trip
it's still plenty early though
well, that's question three
--> sand

Q: Why is travelling through the Stargate from Earth such a bumpy ride?

FlykDuring the movie and the early seasons of Stargate SG1, travel through the Stargate from Earth is an extremely bumpy ride, often resulting in the feeling of being chilled, being thrown out of the Stargate upon arrival, etc. It is covered in Stargate SG1 that an object in motion maintains its ve...

12:48 AM
Really a great bit of period atmosphere and Jarvis is a neat character, too. A really enjoyable show so far. It seems to have gone quite unnoticed compared to all the other hyped MCU stuff. Or maybe it's just too different from the usual modern superhero fare?

Q: Horror movie name?

Q: Fringe : What do the different colour intros mean?

CoomieI've been watching Fringe (which is great, btw) and noticed the colour of the intro sequence changes. Fringe is one of those series where everything seems to mean something, or have a double meaning. What is the meaning of the different intro sequences? This is the part that I'm talking about.

Q: Observers in every episode?

FlykI have recently started watching Fringe and as a newbie to watching Fringe I have been advised that I need to spot all of the observers, and that they're present in every episode every aired. Q: What are the differences in the remastered Children of the Gods?

FlykThe first episode of Stargate SG1 was called "Children of the Gods", this was a two part special to introduce the series and set up the team which was later remastered into a "Final Cut". In an interview with executive producer Brad Wright, he said: "There is new material, but most of the n...

Q: See you on the other side

ChrisThe sentence "See you on the other side." is often used in movies and series, for example Lost, Jason Bourne movies and many others. Is this a reference to an old movie? Or is it just a common phrase in English?

2:47 PM
oh
today I learned that there are three new stargate movies in the works, and a new season of x files coming?

3:05 PM
@Flyk Drgh, why doesn't this surprise me.

the worst of it is
the stargate movies will have new casts but written and directed by the people who did the first movie
and the x files will have a super aged original cast

Well, ok, that's not so bad news. So maybe it isn't just a stupid reboot but an actual sequel of some kind.

well x files is supposed to be "the next season"
it's only six episodes though
stargate looks like a full reboot, ignoring the tv shows

@Flyk That's also not too bad, but well, I couldn't care less about X-Files anyway.
@Flyk Well, nobody cares about the TV-show anyway, apparently. ;-P But why does it always have to be a stupid reboot?

@NapoleonWilson because they left it literally 20 years before doing the second movie? :p
have you seen Kurt Russel these days?

3:09 PM
@Flyk inevitable.

@NapoleonWilson shame you don't get to flag anymore, only 200 to go until I'm officially #1 in flagging :p

@Flyk I didn't say make a sequel with the original cast. I just said don't ignore the original movie.
@Flyk Doesn't matter when I got the badge earlier. There's no public leaderboard for flags anyway, muhahaha!

@NapoleonWilson it doesn't need to be public
also
"only a matter of time..."
only 2400 to go!

Well, since I still edit like a madman, I'm pretty sure you won't get me, since I'm already quite ahead and am not stopping it.

according to the stats, I edit slightly faster
so... eventually
maybe I'll beg SE to undo my deletion on this site so I can get my edits back
:p~

Meh, I just have to wait the few months until you disappear for yet another year.

Q: A movie with bottomless pit full of large wood poles

rostokAll I remember is a scene where protagonists must pass some hideous trap. The room instead of floor has very long and thick wooden poles and it is suggested that it is bottomless. I think it must be some kind of comedy adventure movie from the 80s. Maybe with some Asian plot.

Q: Movie Identification: Werewolf and molotov cocktails

bburk707I've been trying to find the name of a movie. It was a horror from the 80's most likely. There was a bad guy that would transform into a werewolf like creature. Q: Need help identifying movie

Kishore SagarI only remember a scene from the movie in which a honey badger keeps following a man in the desert. It's an English movie.

@MattD Mod, yes. Graduation, no.
@Flyk Because this process is (up until now) defined by what has been in existence (regarding questions on this site) earlier. There is (not yet) consensus on the TV show always getting the appendage. Might also be a special case because movie based on TV show, or people creating the tag thought show's more significant. Bottom line is though, there is actually no "agreed process" yet to my knowledge, or you might want to point it out.
@MattD And right today I wanted to write my meta rant question about that, but then work and cinema got in the way, and now I might be too lazy for the night to do it. Maybe the weekend at the maximum.

9:36 PM
@NapoleonWilson Is it even really a movie? I know it's a movie, but I thought it was just wrapping up the series to some extent.

AnonymooseIn Pulp Fiction, So, how did Marcellus know he was double-crossed by Butch?

@Catija Sure it is a movie, it even was in cinemas.
@Catija Sounds like that'll just be Avengers 3. But nice, that Vision guy's great.
One could even use that in the answer to that not particularly bad question we had recently, about if Vision will star in anything else than Avengers movie. Though, that's most probably closed already.

Q: Is there any point to the "cancellation" tag?

BCdotWEBThere are currently two questions using cancellation, and one of them is barely relevant WRT this tag (which has now been fixed). I'm wondering whether there's even a point to the tag in general: I doubt anyone is going to subscribe to it, since each cancellation of a TV show has its own reasons...

doesn't it fall under the whole meta tags thing we've already discussed
any question about cancellations is going to have the word "cancellation" or "cancelled" in it

@Flyk Uh sure, in the same way like all the other tags we didn't agree to delete just because someone called the "meta" somehow.
@Flyk So what?

I don't understand how you keep going from basically agreeing and understanding what I mean to not

@Flyk I told you once (uh, not really just once actually) before with what things of your aproaches I do not agree. Are you still understanding my answer to your big meta question as agreement?

no, I'm saying you're fine with nuking vampires because you get why
and you're fine nuking technology because you get why
but you're not fine with nuking cancellation even though the exact same applies

11:41 PM
@Flyk Yeah, because vampires as a concept have nothing to do with movies and TV directly. Cancellation does.

can you approve my tag wiki edits before UTC resets please?

@Flyk Same for technology.

right so I need to rollback these various edits

It's all stuff movies are about in constrast to stuff questions are about. Doesn't seem to apply to cancellation.

oh you did already
cool stuff

11:42 PM
@Flyk The exact same does not apply.
@Flyk Of course I did.
@Flyk Sure it's cool, if an edit is invalid it gets rolled back. Be thankful that you have such an avid edit reviewer in me. ;-)

I did notice you rolled back a minor edit on a post that was going to get bumped because I was editing all of the answers as well
but w/e

Anyway, thanks for the question, that's actually answerable pretty nicely in rather metaphorical way, instead of just saying something totally easy like "uh, because he was a mind stone zombie earlier?".

Q: Why did Hawkeye become immune to mind control effects?

FlykIn Avengers: Age of Ultron, there is a scene in which Scarlet Witch manipulates the Avenger's to reveal their worst nightmares, but when it comes to mind controlling Hawkeye, he seems to be immune. This doesn't make sense to me as in the first Avengers movie, Loki had absolutely no problem contro...

Q: What happened to Daniel Jackson's allergies?

FlykBoth in the Stargate movie and early on in Stargate SG1, Daniel Jackson's allergies are used frequently in the plot (for example, slowing down the party in the movie and as a method of communication during Children of the Gods). His allergies would act up every time he traveled through the gate (...

hm?
the age of ultron question?

@Flyk If you mean the change of the author's style of bolding the question, yeah. Or the one that just removed a perfectly valid "but"? Sure.

11:46 PM
a but at the start of a sentence is never perfectly valid
same as an and
they're words intended to join two things together
not start anew
oh this is mean, I'm two rep away from rep cap

@Flyk But also not worth an edit.
@Flyk It did join ideas, though.

@NapoleonWilson not normally, because it would bump it to the first page, but since I was editing the answers as well it was already going to get bumped
@NapoleonWilson hardly, it was at the start of a sentence in a new paragraph in a completely different style of text

@Flyk Based on the stuff from the previous paragraph.

that's using a but at the start of a sentence...

Ugh, now we're getting those questions containing nothing but huge yellow boxes as they use to ask them on SciFi? Could anyone having seen Cabin in the Woods please transform the spoiler markup on this thing into an actual question?
