Q: What does Newt say at the end of Aliens?

Mathew FoscariniAt the very end of Aliens. After Ripley has blown the queen alien out the airlock, and she climbs up over the edge of the airlock door. Newt jumps into her arms and says something. It sounds either like "Hold me" or "Mommy". They both sound correct after listening to it a few times, but it seem...

Q: What is the best site to search for a movie?

Evan DarkI'm looking for a site (or sites) where almost all movies ever made are present (so anything that I've seen on TV should be there too) and has a high quality search engine. The things I need: Tags, categories about the content of the movie, I want to be able to search for movies with cars, or ...

@MattD Well, I once had a comment why it's wrong but then turned it into an answer. Maybe I just should have left the comment anyway. But now I'd somehow feel like a jerk if yet again writing a comment why the answer is rubbish. But maybe that's really necessary. But well, the accepted answer won't change anyway. ;-)

Q: Why did the Uchiha Clan want to Rebel?

Jim ThioIn Naruto manga the entire Uchiha Clan are all slaughtered by Sasuke's brother, Itachi. If they're so weak, why did they want to rebel? Also the third hokage doesn't seem to be the kind condoning genocide. Does this make Konoha a socialist country?

I mean user want answer from manga not anime

@AnkitSharma Then feel free to close-vote if you think so. It certainly passed under my radar (can't speak for others, though) since anything anime-related usually stops me from reading the question at all. But maybe it had 4 close-votes one day (which seem indeed to have an expiration date) and there weren't enough people caring about it/noticing it at all to make for a 5th. Though, I'd guess it could be reworded to the anime if they're that related (and the answer seems to use the anime, too).

@ChristianRau that's why i am stopping from closing. THinking to remove manga word and question and answer will work very well

@MrLore It seems you at least get more of your beloved BlogOverflow questions over on meta. I'm inclined to write another one there, too.

I have removed the manga part from the question because manga are off topic here. Even the answer is purely applicable in anime. — Ankit Sharma 16 secs ago

Q: What TV comedies primarily featured a single plot per episode?

DavidMy friend and I are trying to think of TV comedies that don't have multiple storylines, either going at the same time or dividing the show into segments. The show that spurred this is Wilfred, which is a good example of what we're looking for. Louie might qualify, but not every episode works thi...

Woot woot, Enthusiast badge number 106 goes to me. Now can I keep the streak alive for 70 more days? @_@

@MattD Oh, Enthusiast, how cute. See you in 70 days. ;-)

Maybe I should set daily reminders to at least fire up the SE app on my phone and hit the M&TV section . . . .

Q: Which is the first book about a movie?

AnkitMovies are often based on books. But when was the first time when a book was published about a movie ?

Q: Which was the first movie remake?

AnkitI want to know Which was the first movie remake in the history of movies ? I do not mean reboot. I mean remake i.e. with same story (mostly).

3:33 PM
@MovieReel Bah, any more first appearance one-liners? What was the first movie showing cars? What was the first newspaper article about a movie? What was the first movie conatining the word "shoe"? What was the first movie to feature at least 5 actors?
But to each his own. I guess there are enough people interested in those things anyway.

I'm glad I held back from posting my question last night :P
I was actually considering starting a meta post asking if we should have a sandbox where we can test out these arguably trivia questions to see what people think

3:47 PM
@MrLore Well, ask it if you find it interesting. It's certainly on-topic, I guess. This is primarily my own opinion and shouldn't keep you from asking questions you deem fascinating. I have asked millions of question most people probably don't give a s**t about.
@MrLore That is a very strange idea. A sandbox to test if your question gets down/close-voted and where you can refrain from posting it if it becomes too negatively reveived? Or where it promotes to full-site status after nobody complained about it for a week? That sandbox already exists, here it is.

Some combination of the both of them
They have them on Code Golf so people can test out their new challenges and make sure the question is clear and understandable, as well as on Mathematics for testing out that crazy formatting they have
For example, the question I'm not sure about is `What is the most commercially successful Alan Smithee film?`
Personally, I want to know because it would indicate either the director has really high standards or just doesn't know what a good movie looks like, but putting that all into the post feels chatty, but not including it sounds like I just want a piece of simple trivia

@MrLore Though, isn't commercial success easy to look up anyway (or is that the conflict you're facing)?
Oh, now I get it, I should first have googled who "Alan Smithee" is. ;-)

It possibly is with enough googling, but Wikipedia doesn't have box office information for any of the ones made before the 90s or so, and some with no articles whatsoever

In this case I'd even be inclined to find that question interesting. Though for the question at hand I would guess critical success would even be more interesting, albeit way harder to assess reliably.
That being said, if the question gets downvoted or close-voted, then it can always be adjusted according to comments. This site is really its own sandbox and the commenting, editing and reopening features are exactly built for that purpose.

Very true, luckily it was saved as a draft so it should appear shortly and we'll see what people think :)

Q: What is the most commercially successful Alan Smithee film?

Crow T RobotAs you can read on Wikipedia, Alan Smithee is an official Hollywood pseudonym which can be used by directors who wish to disown a film which they have lost creative control on. They maintain a list of the films who are credited to Alan Smithee, however most of them have no information about box ...

But I guess adding a bit of fluff why this is so interesting (as you quite well reasoned in your chat message) might not be a bad idea.
And it is far more intriguing than the recent first-appearance instances anyway, to me at least.

Good :D

What tag is better? miami-vice-2006 or miami-vice-movie? The former sounds as if there was an earlier movie while the latter sounds like a much closer relation between the TV show and the movie than there was (in contrast to e.g. Veronica Mars, where the movie was a continuation of the show with the same cast, and even that tag wasn't easy to find).
Or maybe I should make it a proper meta question, though I'd rather not start a meta discussion on each and every little tag nobody cares about.

Personally I'd go with 2006
Isn't there an actual miami vice: the tv show: the movie?
