Q: The longest gap between a movie and its sequel

user0810Dumb and Dumber To is to be released later this year, 20 years after the original Dumb & Dumber. This motivates me to ask what is the longest gap between release date of a movie and its sequel. Here, by sequel, I consider only movies where characters are portrayed by the same actors as in the or...

Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Barely Legal Pawn. This is the best damn thing you'll see all day. youtube.com/watch?v=ovqM72em1dA

Q: Lighting during a night scene

invalid_idMany movies contain a scene that is portrayed as taking place during the night. Due to the low amount of light some tricks are applied. Unfortunately, I couldn't find much info on this. To me it seems a lot of night scenes make use of so-called "black lights". These lights give lighter surfaces s...

Q: Variations of the same song

Felipe StokerWhat is the name of the term used for when the soundtrack composer, creates a song and the other songs are variations of the same song. For example, in the movie Inception, The Last of the Mohicans, Requiem For a Dream

Q: What is the first occurence of film within a film within a film?

Ankit SharmaIn the Scre4m (or Scream 4) opening scene, So the above scene shows a film within a film within a film. If I am not wrong then this kind of scene is not new and I have seen it before. So I want to know which film or TV series is the first to show this kind of scene?

One or more of the answers is exemplary and worthy of an additional bounty.
How?
None of the answer is what i searched for

Maybe not, but there's one I really liked anyway

Ohhhh....so you put the bounty
2 names always confuse me

It's fun :D
You should name yourself after your favourite character too
Get a theme going for the site

Already did once as jason vorheese (not my fav)
But now sticking with real one
Anyways edited the question to add the video which i was talking about.

I want to be L but username can't be less then 3 character

Awesome :D

The problem is if an active user does that too often, every second @ comment on the site doesn't make sense anymore. But who am I to complain about this. ;-)

Haha
Nobody could write a better character than Crow though, I'm sticking with it!

I'm still not sure what to make it on Science Fiction & Fantasy (though, I'm far from active there anyway). I'm not an avid reader anyway and everything I've watched isn't too special.

John Carpenter is basically a mix of the two, surely there's another in there you could pick? :)
R.J. MacReady perhaps

Hmm, but no-one with that extraordinary a name.
But nevermind, I'll get around that once I ever answer a 2nd question over there.

So here in the States there's a Simpsons marathon starting tomorrow at 10AM. All 552 episodes plus the movie, non stop until 11:59 PM on September 1. Kinda tempted to upgrade my cable package to get the channel it'll be on.

7:51 PM
Oh yeah didn't some company buy it for like a billion dollars recently?

@MattD WUT? 24/7? That's an amazing project. Do they place the movie chronologically correct?

@ChristianRau I think so, someone posted a schedule of episodes. I believe they're doing the whole thing chronologically. It's basically the longest marathon for any single TV show in television history.
@MrLore Well, FXX is owned by Fox. It's basically a "more premium" FX channel.
I really want to upgrade my cable package for it, even if only for the month, but I'm also debating how much I'll actually get to watch.

Ahh right

Part of me hopes this turns into some kind of annual event, like Shark Week, only good.

Someone should buy the rights to Mystery Science Theater 3000 and show that, it would take a full 4 days longer

7:59 PM
Buhahaha, cut Gollum out of the movie?

That's pretty crazy

Q: How Much Screen Time does Gollum have?

Pooperscooper77My Mom and I watched the Hobbit and it scared her because she thinks Gollum is demonic and I really want to continue watching the LOTR Series but without Gollum I was thinking of editing out parts of Gollum it would really help and really be nice if someone told me how much time does Gollum have ...

I mean he's basically the third main character in return of the king

Well, I fear it's a valid question, though. Yet might be phrased a bit more elaborate (maybe concentrating more on plot relevance than screen time, even if the premise stays ridiculous nevertheless).

Well thankfully I've hit the reputation cap today, so one of you guys can sit and watch lord of the rings for half a day to answer his question :P

8:09 PM
Well, if spiders are ok for him he might at least enjoy Episodes I - III (if he skips over the only part in Episode I that's actually relevant for the original trilogy).

Oh wow, the site was weird in the old days

8:26 PM
What old days?

Those questions you linked

They aren't even a year old, are they? And it's not that it's any less weird now (the spider and cat-torture phobists have been replaced by Gollum phobists).

9:03 PM
I just meant weird that those were so well received in comparison to this

Not all, though. But they're asking different things anyway. Not which scenes to cut from the movie (of an entire major character). Still I hadn't upvoted those spider things as much either, but well Tho Hobbit was hot at the time anyway (and so I fear were the questions, if that infamous feature already existed back then).
