@iandotkelly It seems you have discovered merging as a useful feature. I admit that I also never considered this so much at all, seems like quite underrated feature but quite useful when the duplicate already has good answers. Though, often the duplicate gets closed fast enough, but for the recent cases of duplicates discovered much later it seems quite a good approach. Maybe I'll look through some older duplicates and see if merging makes sense.
@iandotkelly Sorry for the many flags, but I think merging might be a good feature to streamline the information on this site. Though, the only problem is that answers lose their acceptance status (or maybe a more general meta discussion is due before acting on those merge requests).
