@DavidStratton cf. your comment re: Catholic Biblical inerrancy definition. Please see The Inerrancy of Scripture and the Second Vatican Council | Catholic Culture. A good place to start because the Catholic Church doesn't use infallibility with regards to the Bible.

The latter link above has "Wherever the sacred writer makes a statement as his own, that statement is the word of God and infallibly true, whatever be the subject-matter of the statement." @DavidStratton catholic position: inerrancy limited to saving truths/salvation, what the inspired authors wanted to communicate as regards saving truths/salvation. Bible at times disregards known historical facts.
