i love google talk both for the facility and the hilarity
"I received your email back in regards to the big David Administrator deviate position. "

Hilariously, it's discounted!

A: In clause in mysql

bluefeetPlease start to use join syntax instead of an IN clause: select a.first_name, a.actor_id, fc.film_id, c.name, c.category_id from actor a left join film_actor fa on a.actor_id = fa.actor_id left join film_category fc fa.film_id = fc.film_id left join category c on fc.category_id = ...

@bluefeet nice.
as an aside ... holy shorts
sqlformat.org tool for formatting sql querys — Justin 1 min ago

@swasheck did you not know about that?

and SO is offline.

10:36 PM
no it's not

@bluefeet nope

@ypercube nope

@jcolebrand must've been failing the clusters
;)
@ypercube for the doubters
(i can't see it but i can post it ;))
@AaronBertrand thanks

I used to use that one for manually formatting code to publish on sqlblog.com, because that site uses the antithesis of blogging tools, Community Server.
On sqlperformance.com it's WordPress so I have a highly customized version of WP-GeSHi highlighting - I just drop code in and it makes it all pretty colors for me.
Formatting is less of an issue for me since I am pretty anal about formatting right from the start.

10:39 PM
@AaronBertrand hadn't noticed

Who deleted all the fun comments here? Cole?

Q: How do I add minutes to a time data type?

TrispedI have a stored procedure which inserts two records into a table, the difference between the records is that the time column of the second record is @MinToAdd after the first: CREATE PROCEDURE CreateEntry /*Other columns*/ @StartTime time(2), @EndTime time(2), @MinutesToAdd small...

@swasheck yeah ok

For you @AaronBertrand

hahahaha

My parents got my that shirt when I was a teenager if that says something

Do you watch Modern Family? Are you like Manny? :-)
I definitely am.

10:47 PM
I have actually never watched that show

It is our favorite comedy.
...by a LOT.

@AaronBertrand been hearing a lot about it ... we just started watching Rules of Engagement

That's one I've never watched
David Spade right?
Outside of Tommy Boy and Black Sheep, he largely grates on my nerves
Well he grates on my nerves in those movies too, but that's what makes them funny
So maybe same effect here? :-)

@AaronBertrand yeah ... he's an annoying twerp on this show too but he's overshadowed.
what's the premise of modern family?

dysfunctional family - male gay couple with a daughter, old man (Ted Bundy) married to young hottie (Sofia Vargara) with a son, wacky couple with a son and two daughters. I spit out portions of beverage at least once during every episode.

10:57 PM
@AaronBertrand nice. we'll have to watch it.

I've got a call gents and ladies. Talk tomorrow perhaps.

Wow, this has a heat factor of 202, I don't think I've ever seen anything of the like: workplace.stackexchange.com/questions/7617/…

@AaronBertrand Mine is Happy Endings

~40k views in 28 hours?

@jcolebrand it hit HN

11:00 PM
I fgiured that
still outrageous

i think it was @CadeRoux who mentioned the edit chain that has developed/changed the story significantly
@AaronBertrand later

@swasheck The edit chain ostensibly makes the question more objective, while altering the character of the original post, and taking out relevant information like his closeness with the employee and the fact that he has a child. The idea that those things can be separated is ludicrous. It is StackExchange's fatal weak spot, the anal-retentive quest to always be more and more Q&A and less and less Forum.

@CadeRoux cool. i'm not anal-retentive enough to rip through the revisions

i.e. no recipes on the cooking stackexchange. People WANT a one-stop community. If the Q&A portion isn't where it needs to be, people WILL NOT come to a Q&A site where they have to pick and choose which questions to ask where. They'll just go back to the most popular and friendly sociable forum.
@swasheck Something in one of the comments triggered me to go back and see why what they were talking about was missing.

11:15 PM
hm. we just use allrecipes.com
oh google.

@swasheck I think I might get vaccine this year - every time I get it, it's a year when they didn't predict the strain right and I get sick anyway.

@CadeRoux that's my experience too

@CadeRoux except it's human nature to devolve and be chatty, and to lose track of the topic under discussion
We do thrive with artificial premises anyways

11:59 PM
