@billinkc at one point i believe i understood you to have been working on some sort of web scraper to pull sql server build numbers. what was the outcome of that project?
Such an annoying inconsistency : Point is constructed as X,Y But displayed as Y,X :
DECLARE @g geography;
SET @g = geography::Point(47.65100, -122.34900, 4326)
SELECT @g.ToString(); -- same as SELECT @g.STAsText()
--Result:
POINT (-122.349 47.651)
DECLARE @g geometry;
SET @g = geometry::Point(47.65100, -122.34900, 4326)
SELECT @g.ToString(); -- same as SELECT @g.STAsText()
--Result:
POINT (47.651 -122.349)
Or maybe it depends on the third argument. My experience with either geography or geometry is next to nothing.
I have a question that has been closed due to being too narrow, or too specific.
I believe many people will benefit from that question when having to deal with arithmetic overflow in sql server, and it may or may not be considered too specific.

My network-wide gravatar identicon used to be a pleasant blue, now it's bright green. I didn't change my email. Did Stack Exchange change its email hashing algorithm or something?
@MaxVernon it's great for me. Chile being the long country that it is, it has a wide range of weathers. North is dry and hot almost all year, and going to the south, it gets increasingly colder, snowy and green
@Lamak for me, that's one of the really compelling features about Chile - the wide range of latitude. Plus, it seems like recently (the last 15 years, perhaps more) have been pretty good, politically. The country seems to have a great health-care system, etc.
Wife had hip replacement surgery yesterday (injured it 19 years ago and it finally got to the point where she was ready to replace) so I'm a wee distracted
The only redeeming factor for Chile is they grow delicious Bosc pears
I'm a little disappointed that Spanish doesn't have a cool word for prince - príncipe doesn't excite me. Conde, barón, etc just don't sound exotic enough
"THAT'S NOT AN ACCEPTABLE RECOMMENDATION FOR A SOLUTION. WE CAN'T RE-ENGINEER THIS! WE DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF TIME!" perfect. then we'll spend this time waiting for the process to work
