@MartinSmith Interesting. I have never really tried to understand what is going on in the compute scalar and why there is a stream aggregate there doing min(). Noticed that the compute scalar is much simpler with untyped XML (perhaps faster). The case when you have many attributes could possibly be rewritten using local-name() and pivot on the node name. Could be faster or not. Will probably have some time to test this while in London (Heathrow) for a couple of hours tomorrow.
