12:00 AM
@Cerberus Oh yes, 62.6 degrees Fahrenheit, is quite pleasant! (more than any other metric measurement, temperature is the hardest for me to relate to).

12:11 AM
@Cerberus When her Automated Intercept System was introduced in the 1970's it was revolutionary! No voice response system ever sounded as good — before, or since!

Yay!
@ElmerCat Mmm I guess almost any measurement is hard for me. Except for the ones that are still in use, like pound and ounce.
Although I think there are different kinds of ounces in English...

@Cerberus Everything else is just a simple ratio, but to get from Centigrade to Fahrenheit, I you have multiply by 1.8 and then add 32 — perhaps that's why it's harder to imagine.

Hmm true.
I try to remember that 37 is 100 and -17 is 0.
Then I double the distance from whichever number is closest.
So it was 17 degrees today.
That's 20 degrees below 37, so it will be 40 degrees below 100F, so 60F.
So I have a rough idea.

12:28 AM
@Cerberus Perhaps it's easier when you're more accustomed to Celsius.

If you're more accustomed with both systems, then I'm sure it will be easier!

12:57 AM
@ElmerCat Looks like you were more right than I was.
Although I do wonder how they got those statistics.

@Cerberus It's mainly the Establishment that's been pushing for Mrs. Clinton — average Americans have a more favorable opinion of Mr. Sanders.

I'm still surprised that the centre should pick him over Clinton.
Or perhaps it's the extreme flanks, rather!
Les extrêmes se touchent, it is said.

He is the incredibly rare honest politician — to many people, that means a lot.

Or perhaps there are lots of people who hate 'Washington' and just want an outsider, whoever he be. They don't care about other left–right issues so much.

@Cerberus You should know that Sanders' views are not extreme — they are aligned with the needs and concerns of most Americans.
... and people around the planet, for that matter!
If someone works hard at a full-time job, they shouldn't be living in poverty.

1:11 AM
@ElmerCat They are not extreme in my opinion, but they are extreme in the current American political spectrum.
Which is not bad.

Mr. Trump is extreme in his xenophobia and narcissism, and Mrs. Clinton is extreme in her arrogance and support of the Establishment and financial elite. Meanwhile, most people just want a safe and happy life, and a better world for their children. Only Bernie Sanders really understands that — those of us who recognize that, love him dearly for it!

I don't disagree with any of that, but I was merely talking about the political spectrum.
Too bad he couldn't defeat Clinton...

1:29 AM
@Cerberus There's no true, heartfelt love for Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Trump, but Bernie Sanders touches people like no one else. This is a cool video, but the best part is at time = 8:05. As Bernie approaches the stage, the reaction of the woman in the blue shirt is pure joy! You can't fake that — it's genuine, and she is clearly thrilled!

I believe it.

12 hours later…
Huy
1:05 PM
@Stephie: do I also just pinch the top of the stems for parsley, exactly the same way like for basil?

@Huy nope, pick large leaves with their stems. Parsley doesn't branch, it grows from the central taproot.
