7:08 AM
@ElendilTheTall Holy crap! I saw your arrival,. I just got here myself

Creme pat is stiffer than creme anglaise yes
S@b

3 seconds :)
How ya doing?

Training day was good, but not among my top 10. The acting was awesome.

When your benchmark is les mis, I didn't expect it to be :)

7:11 AM
I honestly thought Denzel's character was gunna turn out to be a sort-of good guy.

Ha
Well, his new film, The Equaliser, is pretty much him being kick ass but good. Same director.

The line that gave me chills was , "Never wear your wedding ring."
It made me think of MI (although I was never even close to that).

Mrs Tall sent me a photo from Pinterest the other day of a wedding ring with 'Married' embossed on the inside in reverse
So even when the ring was off it would show 'married' on the guy's finger
Insecure much?
Why not just heat it up so it's branded on there?

Ha! I think I've told you of walking up Hooker Hill with my soon to be husband?
Bitch! I'm combat trained!
Bring it, you 95 lb piece of fluff!
And your little friend too!

7:26 AM
Lol
Epic tae kwon do vs US Army Combat Training battle in the streets of Seoul.. M

Those were the days.

Of course, you could always resort to the American Way and just shoot them

HA !

Or call in an air strike, the American Army way
:P

Where were the drones when I needed them?

7:30 AM
Still being prototyped I imagine
I'm sure there was an A10 within spitting distance though
There isn't a Korean hooker alive that can survive the Vulcan cannon

ah yes. I had a Commodore 64 back then, I got a 286 just before leaving Korea.

Fancy

Hot shit

My wrist watch has more memory than a C64

isn't that amazing?"?

7:36 AM
My phone has 31,250 times more memory
And that's just RAM

better yet...my (old, stupid) cell phone has more computer power than NASA during Apollo 11.

Slide rules for the win

HA!
My dad shows off with one of those :)
What a geek.

Dad, stop waving that thing around
And the slide rule

Between that and the tidy-whity's bat story....
<shrug>
Genius smeenious
what a nerd

7:43 AM
Heh

I love him so much... he's getting old.
His mother had Alzheimer's.
Every once and a while he has scared me with that.
He he has also said that he will kill himself if he ever feels that he is losing his intellect...and he'll do it fast because...well..otherwise he might forget.

8:04 AM
:/

This is just a something...he said it it...maybe...5 years ago.
I said to his wife, "You know he's serious, right?"
As far as I'm concerned, it would be his right.
I hope I never see it.

yes
I don't understand the debate over euthanasia
given stringent controls to prevent abuse by murderous relatives or doctors, I don't see why we afford pet rabbits more dignity in death than ourselves

Here we go again.

has this debate been had before?
here, naturally

I use the example of Labrador Retrievers.
It's just another S@B example.

8:11 AM
I can actually understand the debate - meddling religious mediaevilists
hampering progress yet again
if you want to be a backwards moron, go ahead, but mind your own fucking business
don't drag us all back to the bronze age with you

Well, it's complicated by the fact that the one that can often profit from the death is the same one we would trust to say what the person would want.

that's the stringent controls part
I think it would have to be a case of having to come from the horse's mouth
not even a signed affidavit would be good enough, because minds can be changed

I swear, If my dad wants to die, (he's a lawyer, he'd put it it in writing eight ways to Sunday)
I'd help

still murder in the eyes of the law, writing or not

8:21 AM
well, this is a depressing road to go down on a Monday morning anyway

HA!
Yes!

have some puppies

OMFG!! That is way too cute!

also today's 'WTF America?' moment
you guys will put anything between bread, given enough mayo

WTF??
I like mayo as much as the next person.

8:30 AM
I think that could be Sandwich, MA, NJ, or IL

ha hahaha!
It's late :)

not really
only in the strictest local terms

Yeah, it is...Here, but maybe not for me. I'm watching a show I like.

Baking, Dogs 'n' Guns: Alaska Edition

Ha! You're not far off!

8:43 AM
America's Shiniest Objects

Ok, here ya go...
I'm watching Deadly Women
I don't wanna hear any crap!
I enjoy it!

I have no idea what it is
once again your Americocentric arrogance has made you assume that the whole world knows everything about your country, yankee dog
/ Vietnam POW movie commandant

That's because it's American crap at it's American crappiest best.
It's really bad.
pathetic really

what struck me about American TV was a) the number of ads and b) the lack of transitional 'cards' between the show and the ads
here, when there's an ad break, there'll be a quick graphical flash with the name of the show on it
then the ads start
there, it's just show-ads
as Bill Bryson said, one minute you're watching a shootout, the next minute someone's cleaning a toilet bowl
also, the political ads were strikingly vituperative
"Bud Jenkins doesn't give a shit about Massachussets! Vote for Dwight G. Engles III!"

vituperative??
Really??

8:53 AM
adjective
bitter and abusive.
well
yeah

And I can't get you to play Scrabble?

oh yeah, cos vituperative springs up all the goddamn time
you win the game with 'id' and 'qi', vituperative probably scores about 4 points

That's just practice!:)

my point is, a half-decent vocabulary does not make one a shoe-in for Scrabble
look at you, you kick ass at Scrabble but you can barely string a coherent sentence together ;)

Not at all! That's the point!
HA! Bite Me!

8:58 AM
3 words, very good! <pats head>
;)

I'm a lousy typist! :)
But a damn good Scrabble player! :)

one looks good on a resume...
the other looks good on a nursing home application...
:P
so what is Deadly Women about?
it sounds somewhat tautological to me...

We've actually discussed ti.

Yeah..

9:08 AM
ah, the female murderer show?

It's dramatic reproductions of criminal, murderous acts of women.
yep.
I can't explain why I like it.
I just do.

lots of tips?
;)

That must be it...
Or, things not to do!

1. Get caught

Exactly!

9:21 AM
I imagine you as a kind of female Jason Bourne crossed with the guy from Due South
kicking ass and taking names, with a snowy backdrop

Ha!
I am harmless. :)

that's what you want me to think
just quietly going about your business, putting your past behind you, staying out of trouble
until an act of injustice spurs you into lethal action
"BAG SNATCHER BRAINED WITH TIN OF CREAMED CORN. Onlookers today described how a devastatingly good-looking but otherwise nondescript woman brought down a bag-snatcher in downtown Anchorage today, by hurling a can of creamed corn from a distance of 126 yards and hitting him on the head. She then disappeared into the snowy wastes muttering "They just keeping pulling me back in!"

9:37 AM
"Later, a gang of 7 would-be bank robbers was found trussed up by their own bootlaces after a fight which CCTV showed lasted just 14 seconds. The footage shows the same woman striking with lightning speed using fire extinguishers, barrier tape, and those pens with the little chains at the end."

Bwaahahahahaaha! :)
That's friggin awesome!
OK, back to Deadly Women now.

The trailer for Denzel's latest movie
it could be based on your life! Erm, mature ex-intelligence agent fights injustice while trying to live a peaceful life
;)

Weirdly, it almost seems like a sequel.

9:55 AM
:)

9 hours later…
6:49 PM
Well, it went quiet in here

7:07 PM
<here...here...here>

7:34 PM
Quack

8:00 PM
You duck.
Or do you quack more like a cat watching a bird?

8:46 PM
Erm, what?

9:14 PM
You know, the sound cats make when they are watching a bird they can't reach.

9:43 PM
:3
