@Shalvenay There's no bugs allowed in my house or lab. That's why my hourly is so high compared to my average competition

@Asmyldof hahaha

Not even really joking

@Asmyldof (think more pun and less joke)

1:08 AM
I'm a bit annoyed at seeing the horrible jobs the big companies do in HW, FW and SW and still people being hesitant at hiring me at dollars (or more) less
Makes me tetchy

@Asmyldof Sounds like you have a marketing problem.
@Asmyldof Can you really say that? Nobody ever knows that their code is bug free in all cases.
You can't know that.

@DanielSank False! Formal verification.

@MickLH Yeah, for some stuff.

It's enough to disqualify "ever"

Consider an autopilot. "Gee, let's test whether or not this program ever halts".
^ Oops.
@MickLH Yes, thank you for finding that sloppy language.

I care.

oh shit guys, quick, how do i swap the pins on a flat-flex 1mm pitch cable? contacts on bottom side on both ends, i basically need one end to have exposed contacts so i can flip the ribbon over

Just one example: At one end of the spectrum you have working code (with bugs hard to find and fix) and at the other end of the spectrum you have maintainable working code that can actually be understood by other people but the original author (within a month from authoring the code).
I don't know @Asmyldof's coding style, but I do know there is a lot of unreadable code out there. I wish companies would hire more people that write maintainable code.
there are still "professionals" claiming that [language XYZ] is so clear that the "code is the comment".

11:30 AM
@DanielSank As already mentioned, when a project needs it all the code I make is mathematically and statistically proven. And to appease @jippie I can mention here that the base Firmware I wrote for the communications module for about a year was taken over by a new guy within a month of reading and figuring out. Half of which was the high level additions made by other people outside of the scope of my verification. (Limited time and high pressure left High Level in other's hands)
@DanielSank And I do indeed have a smidge of a marketing problem, in that it takes a lot of energy to market that difference when it comes to HW/FW design to a floppy floaty business major who hired a Freelancer before that left a shitpile of a mess and I currently don't have the energy left after working in the startup better part of a week. Possibly I should genuinely hire an assistant, but, hard to do if there's no money coming in that path yet. Bit of a vicious circle.

@JRE Did the tracking info get e-mailed successfully?

JRE
@Asmyldof Got an EMail yesterday from UPS. Package was in Eindhoven when I checked.

Don't think they have transwarp package portals yet
:-) As long as you got the tracking. Did you also get the digital bill?
:-P

JRE
Er, not yet. I'll check my email again when I fire up the PC.

12:40 PM
Good evening
Guys, any idea on a cheap connector for 220VAC, 10A, with latch? Except phoenix option which is very expensive...
Thanks!

1:15 PM
@GregoryKornblum PCB mount you could use a 7.5mm+ pluggable terminal block

Thank you! This is what i intend to use, i nothing better will be found... So any other ideas?

JRE
1:39 PM
@Asmyldof Got it. I'll get over to the bank tomorrow and send it out.

@JRE No rush
