I know there are folks here who have good knowledge of electrical and electronic costs: I wonder if you could help out with a question on future costs of inverters on one of our sister sites?

Q: What scope is there for price reductions in photovoltaic inverter costs?

EnergyNumbersIn almost all of the world (except the USA, which has specific local cost challenges), system photovoltaic (PV) costs have come down a lot, to about €2 per installed watt. A large part of the reduction in system costs has come about through Swanson's Law, which is the Moore's Law of PV modules: ...

Why is this question getting so many upvotes, it's not that exciting.. electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/144601/…

@EnergyNumbers I'm not a mod, but questions about "what technology might come around next" are usually closed on EE as opinion based.
Also the power engineering community on EE is so small as to be practically non-existent (anyway I haven't seen our one power engineer in months).

Some odd folk coming around the site these days!
I'm about to delve into the world of Bluetooth LE w/ no experience! I want to make a fairly small device, maybe 6cmx3cm or less, with a 3D accel and pressure sensor, and I want it to broadcast bluetooth. I want to start up quickly, so I'm mostly considering small modules. Can anyone recommend an approachable family? I'd like to do this fairly inexpensively eventually, but $30 or more for a module for a prototype, or is reasonable, so long as development platforms aren't through the roof

@ThePhoton Oh, that's a shame. Where do power engineers hang on on the web, do you know?

@ScottSeidman I've been around for over two years, not just "these days"

@ScottSeidman Just heard a podcast on this: punchthrough.com/bean
doesn't have a pressure sensor, but is pretty close otherwise

@W5VO That's the second time today I've heard that mentioned! I'll follow up on that. Any suggestions if I just wanted a BT module alone, and wanted to handle everything else on my own?

11:07 PM
@ScottSeidman They sell just the module as well
Again, the level of recommendation is that I heard about it
