Holy crap how did a dead chatroom and dead user get resurrected?
The website is completely broken on the tor browser :(
Literally no popups will load. Inbox, rep dropdown, close vote dialog all get a 403...
Do those things rely on third party cookies?

Q: Why are many features not working on Tor?

user1345541My question got closed as a duplicate as another one. I'd have cast the duplicate vote myself but the bug the post is about prevented me from doing so. But anyway. Apparently all the GET and POST requests are returning with 403 forbidden messages. And a comment blames Cloudflare for this somehow....

Oh nice. Thanks a lot Cloudflare.

@nobody I'm only dead inside, the heart is still beating
And no, it's not third party cookies. This is supposed to happen. Because fuck privacy or security.

I'm slightly curious about the "it'll take time for us to impliment ipv6 support"
SE's (still?) got some pretty talented folks, and its not rocket surgery

@MechMK1 Oh I knew you were alive, but I thought your chat account was dead.
Very glad to see you back :)
@MechMK1 :(
On the bright side, SE won't be bothered to ever touch chat so at least that will continue working

haven't used tor browser in a decade...
had it running on a whonix vm just for fun, for a week, and forgot about it.

@nobody It's nice to be back
Also, question: If I am on a desktop system, then all of this specre, meltdown etc crap doesn't affect me at all
In the sense that, any code that would exploit it is considered malware, and if i run malware on my system I'm fucked anyways
How much performance gain could I get by disabling these mitigations?
Oh hey, that silly chrome bug has been fixed
Where favicons were top aligned for some reason

couldn't meltdown and spectre be exploited from browsers too?

Fuck me, really?

Can't have anything nice these days

javascript is a curse in every possible way

This, but Javascript
"Browsers were not supposed to be interactive"
"Years of JavaScript developmen and no real-world use found for it"
"Wanted to do interactivity anyways? We had a tool for that: It was called clicking a link"
"Yes, please give me undefined of something. Give me [object Object] of something" Statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged.

:D
This is my all time favorite meme. Every variant I've seen of it was funny.

Same, I love it
Because so many things just fundamentally don't make sense
